Even though I thought the Canadian grand prix was crap because they red flagged it and by the time the race restarted everyone was back on inters within 2 laps. The best racing comes in the real heavy rain (Japan a few years back). However that was a hell of a drive from Button.
Strange Button has so far ahead the most votes when his collisions with Alonso and Hamilton took them both out, and had they not collided it's likely both would have beaten him...

Why? The Mclarens and Red Bulls were crippled for that race on the blown diffusers - Ferrari had an advantage in that their car was unaffected by this.
It wasnt all that, The Ferrari's were getting progressivly quicker on Mclaren and Red Bull before this race and deserved a win sooner

And you come to this conclusion how? Button is on another level when it is in wet dry conditions, he has shown numerous times that he is by far the fastest in these conditions; faster than Hamilton, faster than Alonso, faster than Vettel.
I dont dispute that Alonso has out driven the car all year and totally deserves the points he has amassed, however, if your point is accurate then why have they struggled (Until last weekend) for pretty much all of the races after Silverstone?
Wow he beat Rosberg who was driving a damaged car, certainly a reason for drive of the season. As for the rest it was decent drive by Schumacher but not sensational, and he was not fighting for 1st place, he was fighting for 3rd place, which he lost out in.
Mmmmh it is conventional wisdom but I'm not entirely certain it's true; he makes fantastic tyre calls but on the same tyres he's not spectacularly quick from what I've seen. It's opinion though and I could be wrong. Can you point me to an example where he's on the same tyres at the same age as Hamilton and Alonso but is just quicker? More difficult with Alonso given the car difference and the fact the McLaren appears to be monsterous in the wet.
But surely judging the conditions correctly is also a skill? As Hamilton has proved this season just being fast isn't enough, you have to have a fairly wide array of talents to win a race, and at times Button really has been on another level. The Ferrari isn't that bad, and I suspect Massa's ineptitude is making Alonso's performances seem better than the really are.
I think even I gave it to Webber at China. He had some good races at the start of the season, certainly better than any Schumacher had.
Well I do not think you can attribute all Button's wet/dry wins down to him just making the right call, certainly that has been a part of it but other drivers has gone onto the right tyres and the right time before and not won the race. Look at Webber at Canada 2011 he pitted for the dry tyres even before Button but he was nowhere near winning the race, likewise in China 2010 Rosberg made the same call as Button but he made a mistake while Button did not. In Hungary 2011 he caught Hamilton up after being about 6 seconds behind him before Hamilton span.
Out of those choices I was going to vote for Button in Canada but before voting I went back and re-watched the Canadian Grand Prix. Having seen it again, I think Button's drive was still an excellent one, but overrated. Pre-Red Flag He starts 7th, is gifted 5th thanks to Hamilton and Webber's collision. Then he very quickly gets passed by Schumacher, and then by Hamilton. Hamilton goes about catching Schumacher while Button cannot stay very close to them. On lap 7 Hamilton goes wide at hairpin, Button goes through and the gap between the McLaren's is approximately 2-3 seconds. By lap 8/9, Hamilton closed that gap and they touch as they start lap 9 (Schumacher was pulling away from Button at this point). After his drive-through, he is 16th but on intermediate tyres. When the safety car comes in he goes on an overtaking frenzy thanks to the much better grip from his tyres (when he finally gets a lap in clean air he is 4 seconds faster than the cars around him and much faster than leaders). Others ahead pit and Button moves to 8th. Post-Red Flag Safety car come in, Button soon pits to inters and then takes out Alonso a lap later. He gets a puncture, pits and is down to 21st. The safety car bunches up the pack and helps him close the gap to the backmarkers. He spends the final 30 laps overtaking several cars, most of which include backmarkers and midfield cars. Overtaking with the DRS was fairly simple and with the fastest car, he won. Other points: Most of the cars Button was racing were mediocre cars that were on average probably 2 sec slower than Alonso and Hamilton had been taken out by Button, leaving Vettel as the only realistic challenger to Button. McLaren had by far the fastest car in race conditions The safety car kept halting Vettel's charge Hamilton in the same car was (more error prone but) much quicker than Button in the early laps The excellent mechanical grip of the MP4-26 was crucial to Button's speed and overtaking success I suspect he would've been penalised for Alonso contact if he hadn't won the race Still a very strong drive but not the best of the season. I think some options in the poll shouldn't be there. My top 3 drives of the season aren't on the poll, so out of the options provided I have to go with Heidfeld in Malaysia for the reasons AG mentioned.
