I'd forgotten this was on - too busy watching the Netherlands halt Scotland's winning run. Damned Dutchmen...

But behave - he's only been out for about four years - in which time there's been a pandemic and he's had a foot operation!

You should have guessed he'd score a century when you saw his name in the starting XI - every test century he has scored has been against England...

    Unlucky Scotland.

    Fair point.

But what a turn around by England - their tea must have been good.

    Mark Wood on fire.

Let's hope the batsmen keep calm and see out the day.

Rather than inspire England's cricketers, all that furore over Bairstow's dismissal seems to have spurred Australia on instead. England 142/7 at lunch.

95 runs off 10 overs after lunch changed the picture rather.

A sprinters stage into Bordeaux today, and a chance for Mark Cavendish to become the all-time stage winner. He had a mechanical forty kilometres from the finish, and a hard time getting back in the peloton. He was just pipped on the line to come in second.

That overnight break didn't do Andy Murray any favours - from leading 2 sets to 1, he lost 3-2.

No playing a top seed proved too much.

Cam Norrie lost to someone called Chris Eubanks .

Bet it was a real knock out blow …

The Tour of 2023 will be one that Mark Cavendish will want to forget. He has just been taken away by the medics, with what looked like a shoulder injury. Just pottering along in the peloton.

England have given themselves a decent chance of a win in this Test match. I hope that Ben is not needed again.

Not any more - 162/5. 89 runs needed - it's going to be close again.
