Klaessen has been promoted to the first team and will be No2 so pretty swift move from FARKE. Has Robles deffo gone? Are we expecting Darlow or better to come in or will we go for Robles?
Darlow is waiting in the wings, I heard Forshaw never turned up for training nor Robles so it looks like both have refused the contract offered
Dan James and Rutter have both stated they are committed to the season ahead, interestingly, Farke apparently sees Rutter as a wide attacking option not a striker or forward. With those two committing to the cause, who are we likely to lose out of; Summerville, Gnonto, Sinisterra, Harrison I’d love to keep Summerville but I think he’s most likely the one who’s had his head turned and I’d love to keep Sinisterra. I also read Farke is aware of the physicality required for the Championship, that’s meant he wants all the stops pulled out in trying to keep Adams. With that in mind, will Gnonto be his preferred choice.
As on Well I hope that continues because he made u tick last season. when we lost him our premier league status went with it. Not saying it was all because of that but it made a big dint.
I don’t think Adams would stay out of a sense of loyalty but more to get himself fit after being out for so long. May have an agreement with the club to reassess in January depending on how the season is going. Mid table and he’ll be off.
Forshaw is a crook if he has refused the contract. He's had wages for nothing for a few seasons. Be nice to see him stay "he owes us" and build the numbers with Ayling,Coops,Struiyk,Dallas. we would be stupid to let any of them go because one we would get next to nowt for them. two they all can do a job in the Championship as cover and first team duties in a hectic season. As on the Charlie Taylor rumour I'd have him back in a heartbeat watched him a few times last season he's still got alot to offer especially in this division. There's nowt behind the ear's they say and was badly advised or whatever it was the time he left but we could do alot worse in finding any other LB. He's proven and got the T-Shirt things you need for this Championship. Out of the lads who came back I never saw Firpo,Aarronson,Rodrigo,Harrison who's prob been told not to come back and looking for new clubs. Gnonto,Meslier,Summerville,Cresswell,Hjede were all on u21 duty and prob had extra time off so question marks on them. Adams,Wober,Sini I hear were in the treatment room but that could be hearsay so again question marks but some positive words from the rumour mill on them. Firstly I'd just like to see who is committed to the cause surely the club know by now who they've tried to convince to stay and who is out the door. Surely all the lads who have never been seen other than the u21 lads have still massive question marks hanging over them. Sooner or later we will get to know we just have to sit tight.
When you look at Georginio Rutter, even on YouTube clips before he arrived, it was obvious he was an outside to in player. Not a striker but an attacking winger who cuts in from either flank. FARKE will have been very aware of Rutter and I think he will be massive if we keep him. When you look at Rutters dribbling stats it was phenomenal being 3rd best in Europe behind Messi and Mbappe. Play him wide and watch him go. Would also like to see Sinisterra repay the fans because he will be a weapon in the championship. If Rutter and Sinisterra stay we also have Dan James so plenty of variety out wide. Summerville will go and probably Harrison too but we have it covered
Seems fair compromise to me though he might stay the season because things can change so quickly in that league. I don’t think it’s that strong if you get it right. Burnley walked it last season.
If (and I mean if, seen nothing confirming that) Forshaw was offered a “pay as you play” contract, he knows his body so knows he isn’t getting paid. He would be getting his physio for free though
Thought he was offered one before Farke was announced various sources including https://www.teamtalk.com/leeds-unit...form-u-turn-new-contract-offered-adam-forshaw and https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...idfielder-after-end-of-season-release-4211081
Various sources are all reporting Max Wober has definitely told the club he wishes to stay and fight for promotion
In the Friday edition of The Square Ball podcast (7 July, 23m 55s) Hay said: “Archie Gray, he just seems to come from the genetically modified school of Erling Haaland. Every time you see him he gets taller and bigger. He looks like he’s about 25 when he’s actually 17. He’s just physically amazing and also technically very good.
Can anyone understand the reasoning behind lining up a friendly against Man U on Wednesday when several players are not expected to return until Monday
Forshaw has been offered a contract but it's on massively reduced terms and clauses including injuries and games missed. I don't know the numbers but it's a massive wage reduction. I get that he owes us, I feel that too but at the end of the day he has his bills to pay and he's out of contract so it's up to him and the club to come to an agreement or part ways. I'm not bothered either way tbh. I said a few weeks ago that the 49ers were adamant that they want some key players kept at the club. It's now starting to be reported that these key players are Adams, Sinisterra, Harrison, Rutter and Dramah with the onus on strengthening the spine of the side by signing a new keeper (possibly Darlow), a new centre half (Nat Phillips), a creative midfielder (Hopefully Hamer) and a new striker (hopefully Piroe). The youngsters will be put with the first team with Cresswell, Gyabi, Gray, Gelhardt and Greenwood hoping to become more regular starters. The players that stay are in for a big bonus if we get promoted. Sounds like the club are open to offers for the likes of Gnonto, Summerville, Firpo, Meslier, Kristensen, Aaronson, Llorente. Sounds like decent planning to me.
It was arranged last season when we thought it was impossible to be relegated. We were scheduled to fly out to a tournament in the USA for our real pre season but our invite was rescinded when we were relegated as it was only open to the top clubs. That's why our pre season schedule looks lightweight. It's a hangover from Radrizanni's ego.
Wednesdays game will be a fitness thing really and will feature mainly U21s. FARKE will want to look at the likes of Gray, Perkins, Gyabi and Joseph to see if they can make it. Also will want to see Lewis Bate, Shaks, McGurk, Gelhardt and Greenwood. Lets face it not all of this lot can be first team this coming season as some will need moving on. Will we see Sinisterra and James feature along with Georginio. Klaessen will be on home turf…
Just another thought. If we get Nat Phillips who is a beast in the air and we play him with Cresswell who scored a few for Millwall last year, is there an argument for starting Sam Greenwood in midfield. He didn't look PL level but I reckon he could be steady away at Championship level and his corners are nasty as ****. We might become a set piece specialist team next season. We'll have some big lads.
