Im two thirds of the way through reading Gilesy autobiography. Can thoroughly recommend it. Gives a marvellous insight into Leeds in our glory days but also into the scum and the way Busby treated players. Shankley comes in for some stick too. Great read

For the benefit of our younger readers, a 'tanner' is a small, silver pre-decimal coin, also known as a sixpence or half-shilling.

I'm glad you explained that Wickersley, because the younger ones may have thought it meant a spray on.

That's assuming we have any "young" fans left after Bates attempts to price them out of Elland Road......

Very patronising Billy. It's all part of our history be it Revies Leeds United or Grayson's Leeds United.

I agree with Billyboy's sentiment and wish I'd been there to see the best team in the world playing at Elland Road every other Saturday and witnessed the famous atmosphere and legends of the club. But nowadays you still get the ups and downs of the Leeds United Ride and watching us in a **** division just makes my support more rewarding when we do get those highs. One day, we'll be back. We're too big a city and too big a club not to.

Oh yeah, and let's not forget we have a divine right to success too. Nearly neglected to mention that.

I too grew up in that marvellous era. For me, Gilesys autobiography gives some wonderful behind the scenes insights into Dons management and the rest of that great team. Remember it was a time with little or no TV coverage, so unlike today, we knew little of the goings on behind the scenes. Its a great read for the oldies but also the younger supporters. No shame in not being born in time to savour our glory years

and why do I need a doctor?

I've read your posts and the majority are whiny and negative. My dad took me to see Leeds United in the early seventies to see the likes of Giles, Bremner and co and yes I feel very fortunate to have seen them. But I still get the same buzz whenever I see Leeds United play, even though it's not as often as it used to be.

Just because you've been around longer doesn't mean you're more knowledgeable and it's quite obvious with you.

Try opening your mind you ignorant buffoon!
