We could just push Harry Gardiner to see if he develops faster, he ended up on loan at Shields last season but didn't get off the bench once, not a great sign but he is still young.
We have Timur Tutierov the Ukrainian striker who is expected to be pushing to get into the first team squad. He arrived just before the season ended and I think he only played 45 minutes for the 21's. I wonder if @Scout73 knows anything about him.
Only watched highlights of him after he signed for us but he looks a talent. Not ready for the championship though, i reckon he will get solid minutes in preseason so you never know Think a couple have mentioned it but signing experience doesnt mean signing old hasbeen players. I know me and a couple others talk about someone like max bird as a good cm option. He is young but had loads of experience. We shouldnt be signing someone just because they are experienced or a good pro, we need to be signing quality, but with the right mindset. Its a bonus if they have experience
You're right, i looked on transfermarkt and some other sites and couldn't see any data, looking at Twitter it looks like he made 3 appearances.
Cheers Scout, I did watch his brief appearance for the 21's and although he had a couple of good touches, he looked miles off the pace. Fingers crossed the preseason gets him up to pace. I agree there is nothing wrong with looking at established players to supplement the youngsters, but my fear is finding ourselves in the situation we were a few years ago when we paid top dollar for rubbish and ended up still paying wages for 3 managers and half a dozen players who were off our books.
Exactly thats the issue with signing experienced players of a certain age - their wage demands are often higher
Tom cannon would be a great option for me, offers us something abit different too, not sure if he’d be one who can play wide mind seems an out and out striker from what I’ve seen
