Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of versatile midfielder Rajdeep Palit on a one-year deal, with the club holding the option of an extra year.

The 19-year-old impressed on trial with the Tigers’ Under-21 side last season, netting the opening goal in a 2-0 victory against Cardiff City at the MKM Stadium in April, before scoring the second goal in the national Professional Development League semi-final against Millwall a month later.

Speaking on his signing, Lead Professional Development Phase Coach Conor Sellars said: “Raj is someone who I have worked with before; he is a great lad who has an unbelievable enthusiasm to be a footballer.

“He is very intelligent and I thought from the day he walked in and the games he played, he was excelling in the side and was being asked to play in positions that weren’t too familiar to him.

“He is going to give us that leadership and I am sure he will not only improve himself, but he, through his attitude and mentality, will improve players around him.”

While playing for local side Elland Juniors, Palit was signed by Huddersfield Town at the age of 11 before representing Manchester United's academy to the age of 15.

Later joining Bradford City’s academy, the midfielder also spent time on loan at Tadcaster Albion, making his debut for the Brewers away against Ossett United.

Playing either in a defensive or attacking midfield position, as well as out wide, the 19-year-old will link up with the Under-21s as a second-year professional.

Probably because we, or anyone else won’t give him a 2-3 year offer, with his possible injury problems.
Do teams not get a small fee for players under 24 too?

Brighton are Cat One Academy, there'd be a fee if we sign him permanently.

Did we have to pay a fee for Alfie Jones?

'On 4 September 2020, Jones joined League One side Hull City for an undisclosed fee, signing a one-year deal'.

because he’s not really had a crack at being the main man, no doubt he’d be better up top then out wide

a good point but in the games he played up there when he returned to the side I thought he looked really sharp. I want Oscar to stay but if Tetteh stays fit I think he would be a force at this level.

Well vinagre strokes and Connolly look to be incoming. Neither tick the box for being robust for the championship but time will tell.

This season just gone we’ve had Pelkas and Simons who were in their last year and I will not accept he was signed with a view to a permanent like Boyd because we would have just signed him on a permanent in the first place. Boyd came in the old emergency loan window so that was just bending the rules.

Got jailed after failing to cover things up for once.
Character is an understatement.<laugh> Though us kids who saw Brid Town’s first ever game in 1959 never dreamt we would see them at Wembley not once but twice. And 20 years before we saw City there. Very Allamesque. you could say yes but we had some of our best seasons under him. I know of a few other things not mentioned in this article. He got away with a lot.

Excited by Vinagre if he stays fit, if he passes a medical don’t know what all the fuss is about.

A fully fit back line looks decent if Vinagre signs. Shame about Darlow not signing as I thought the defence looked much more comfortable when he played.
