Just plays into the hands of the opposition. I've never understood why the city crowd either don't acknowledge that or don't care. Of course silencing the crowd makes the home side edgy and doubt creeps in. It's what you want as an away side precisely because it makes a difference. We all talk about the 12th man when the atmosphere is great and we get that win, but there are also times the MKM too readily hands the opposition the 12th man simply out of impatience and sometimes ignorance too.
Thought he was stroking it about quite confidently early doors with a couple of nice, measured lofted ones but seemed to lose confidence in it quite quickly and after that he was just looking for the short ones. Made a couple of decent stops too just his distribution became predictable. The midfield got too deep also first half but reckon when there's that bit more understanding with Delap integrated and Tetteh reintegrated then I'm sure we'll find them more with the outball.
Watching back the difference in quality between those around the side for a while and those who came in with Acun is absolutely stark on the most part, especially in the first half.
It happens everywhere, it's the modern world. Even the footballing God pep criticised the fans of the now champions of Europe for booing their own players.
Just seen a post, on the FB site, a picture of Acun on a boat with all the usual faces (including you know who ) I know I should be happy for them all, and yes it's a far cry from the previous regime, but many of us would have loved to have been there, even just making our own way, which I certainly would have done as can't stand organised group trips, if only they'd have announced it all well in advance.
Keep your nose out of his business, he's a very private man and avoids social media. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Finally got around to watching the highlights, we create so many problems for ourselves and a lot of it starts with LTT playing his teammates into trouble with **** underhit passes or passing when they have a player on their back. I get that playing out from the back works with the right personnel, but decision making is so key.
You saw the difference when Ingram came on, that added experience knowing when to go long and when not to. Like I said in a previous post, and we did learn this last season quickly, if a team presses you high early on then go long, after a short time they realise the pressing is wasted, so they drop back and then you can go short when there is space to do so.
I thought last season after a shaky start under LR we learned when to go long and when to go short, and handled the situation quite well. I certainly felt less nervous in the 2nd half of the season that at the beginning of LR reign.
Going long most of the time meant the ball going out for a throw in or simply handing the ball back to the opposition for them to mount another attack. We did get better at keeping hold of the ball towards the end of the season but just did **** all with it.
he wasnt tightly marked but someone was 5 yards away what was the point of passing to him in that position? there was nothing useful to be done with the ball there if you say 'to draw the press' that is exactly what Gala were hoping for I wish our opponents would take similar risks in front of their goal
A friend of mine who talked to Tan and Acun when he was in Dublin said that Acun seems quite shy and Tan is much more lively
I'd mostly ignored this debate as there'll be no convincing the lump it brigade, but occasionally the idiocy takes my breath away. Pep did indeed say that, but it wasn't about playing out from the back, it was about having a full back tuck in and be part of the midfield in possession. He ended up using Stones at RB for a while because he was comfortable playing that way. The parallel with us is Rosenior playing Greaves at LB instead of Elder, and it's one reason why they let Elder go.
Well I hope you can get your breath back, you can only play a system if you have the right tools to do it.
