The owner and former chairman of Fleetwood Town FC has been jailed for a multi-million pound fraud which "duped" firms into expensive energy contracts.

A trading standards investigation found Andy Pilley mis-sold gas and electricity contracts and posted fake customer comments on websites.

Pilley, 53, of Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, resigned as chairman and club director of the League One side following his conviction last month.

He was jailed for 13 years.

Pilley was found guilty at Preston Crown Court of two counts of running a business with the intention of defrauding creditors, one count of false representation, and one count of being concerned with the retention of criminal property.

Sainsbury’s boss . First headline today “ if we bring down food prices you’ll have to have our high petrol prices”. In plain English , we are having your money one way or another.
Second headline , he now adds that food prices won’t come down - and now it’s because of labour costs.
If only people would be sensible and now avoid this overpriced company altogether and put him out of his job

My daughter got a puppy in April, a jackawawa....a cross between a Jack Russell and a Chiuawawa. Tiny little thing, this is it here.....

    upload_2023-7-5_22-55-11.png

Couple of weeks ago, she rang me and said she was getting another dog. One of her friends had split with her boyfriend and was moving back in with her parents and couldn't take the dog....so the bairn agreed to take it. What kind I asked? "Its really friendly Dad". What kind is it....
It's an American Bulldog.....bloody massive thing it is.
I thought she was mad....I said it would eat the puppy for a snack!!
This is the pair of them now.....

    upload_2023-7-5_23-4-2.png

Really is a gentle, friendly dog.

I'd be more wary of the jackawawa to be honest

    You might be right....
Up until two years ago I had 3 dogs.
Lost the Cocker in 2021, a daft as a brush, lunatic of a dog....but unbelievably friendly.
Then last year lost the Border Collie. The most trainable, intelligent dog I've ever had. Mind, I did beat him at chess 3-1, so not that intelligent. Like the cocker, unbelievably friendly.
That's left me with the "runt" of the 3....a Yorkshire Terrier.
What a little twat this thing is....viscous little git. I wouldn't trust this little **** around anyone other than the family.
He got on with the other two dogs, I guess he had to....but since he's now "top-dog", he's like a mini rottweiler.
    Little ****.

Curtis Warren the multi million pound drugs mastermind arrested in Boldon Colliery last night, found shacked up with the prison officer he was bucking, now I am no expert on criminal activities and unless shacking up with the ex prison officer is a crime I am not sure a man with his apparent criminal intelligence would be silly enough to break his bail conditions after only 7 months out of the big house ! I read the book Cocky the rise and fall of Curtis Warren its a great read and it portrays him as a very intelligent fella who ran rings around the authorities for quite some time. I am very surprised he has been caught with his pants down quite litteraly.

Some years ago I read a newspaper article.
Their reporter CLAIMED that he had surveyed 'thousands' of Postmen, asking them which breed of dog was most likely to bite them.

Yorkies came out top of the list, by a mile.

This reporter then surveyed Hospitals, asking when treating dog bites, which breed was responsible the most times.
    Same result.
    Yorkies.

    And it's shouldn't be a shock.
Many Dog breeders care about what they are doing and won't breed from a poor temperament/ dangerous animal.
Which is fair enough when dealing with German Shepherds, Rotties, Doberman's etc.
If these dogs bite, it can be serious.
But it's hard to look at the Yorkie in the same way.
So, the little sods 'get away with nipping'.

And it's worth remembering, should you want to own one, that Yorkies were originaly bred for kiling Rats.
Somewhere, under that coat, some trace of this instinct might well remain.:emoticon-0104-surpr

Only plus side is you can volley them further when they nip you.

I got wrong off Mrs Smug for saying Captain Tom's daughter was a fraud and she'd be dipping into the donations ...

... not so smug tonight eh pet <laugh>

PLANNING chiefs have ordered Captain Tom's daughter to tear down an unauthorised building after plans for a pool complex were rejected.

Hannah Ingram-Moore, 52, and hubby Colin told planners they wanted an office for the charity set up in their father’s name at their £1.2million Bedfordshire home.

But they instead built a 50ft by 20ft pool house with changing rooms, toilets and showers.

I was at the game. Chester’s quality showed second half but Durham put up a good fight, especially first half. 7-2 defeat in the end.

There's definitely something different and weird about them. They're like weird evangelists who see it as their duty to 'spread the word' in any and every situation.

It's incredible that the supporters of just one club should be so different to all the others. You see plenty of Man Utd, Liverpool shirts around but they don't behave like this lot ...

... especially in non-football situations in the close season.

One was at Headingley yesterday for the Cricket with his Newcastle home shirt on.

I'm not sure why they do it but it's weird.
