Perhaps I spoke too soon big Ursula-von-der-leyen hasn't been confirmed yet . A German aristocratic who's father was an SS officer in charge of NATO supporting Nazis in Ukraine what could possibly go wrong? https://www.spectator.co.uk/article...hink-ursula-von-der-leyen-is-fit-to-run-nato/ What makes Biden think Ursula von der Leyen is fit to run Nato? 5 July 2023, 9:25am
The NHS is on life support – it’s time to switch it off and start again While most of the Labour loonies were on social media giving factually inaccurate eulogies about the founding of the NHS 75 years ago, Allison Pearson was in the Telegraph drawing a few comparisons with the health services of other countries and why the Communist Health Service is expiring after 75 years, just like the U.S.S.R. did. The service is pretty much the only religion left in the country but that is hardly surprising as religion is the opiate of the masses, the easily brainwashed and gullible. The myth is that our religion is the envy of the world, which does not explain why nobody else did it this way. Anybody going out on Thursday night to applaud it? The British taxpayer spends 44 per cent of all public spending on the NHS, so the idea that it is the Tories starving it of money is for the birds. At the turn of the century it only received 27 per cent of spending and New Labour were boosting it with PFI and private sector involvement. Bevan ignored most of the Beveridge Report because he wanted a health service in the total control of the State, so we have an inefficient top down monolith of an organisation that wastes fortunes on bureaucracy and stupid roles like diversity and inclusivity managers that could be spent on clinical roles. The NHS should be broken up into regional health services funded by a public/private sector mix like most of the much more successful systems across Europe. The headline is the truth that British people do not want to hear.
The great Ulez revolt – drivers snub fines with £250m unpaid in a year The only Net Zero that can really be associated with Sadiq Khant is brain cell count. If everyone refuses to pay his stupid tax on the poorest there is precious little he can do about it. There is a temptation to take a drive down to the nation’s capital to see if I can find somewhere on the outskirts where I can pass a camera, get a ticket for a souvenir and when it arrives frame it and put it on the wall. I have a hundred per cent record for beating parking tickets (three out of three) so it should be no trouble beating the ULEZ ticket – PCNs generally have a statute of limitations on them, so they cannot be pursued after a year. If Londoners want cleaner air then they should gag Sadiq Khan to stop the aroma of bullsh*t escaping from him.

There used to be an old boy, in Portsmouth, who used to wear his late wife's printed frocks. Obviously being taller they didn't come below the knee. He had grey balding hair and bandy legs. Portsmouth is quite a tolerant place and no-one used to bother him. You'd often see him going about, chatting to people and getting on the bus.
Would that be the same Allison Pearson whose great economic foresight was to laud the Tufton St budget of Truss and Kwarteng that crashed the economy and almost broke the pension industry? And the same Tufton St that piles their shills like Kate Andrew, Emily Carver, and Mark Littlewood all over every BBC panel espousing NHS privatisation on the explicit orders of the Koch Foundation and the Cato Institute, who the IEA and TPA try to deny funds them? That Alison Pearson? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/55_Tufton_Street
