Some years ago I read a newspaper article.
Their reporter CLAIMED that he had surveyed 'thousands' of Postmen, asking them which breed of dog was most likely to bite them.
Yorkies came out top of the list, by a mile.
This reporter then surveyed Hospitals, asking when treating dog bites, which breed was responsible the most times.
Same result.
Yorkies.
And it's shouldn't be a shock.
Many Dog breeders care about what they are doing and won't breed from a poor temperament/ dangerous animal.
Which is fair enough when dealing with German Shepherds, Rotties, Doberman's etc.
If these dogs bite, it can be serious.
But it's hard to look at the Yorkie in the same way.
So, the little sods 'get away with nipping'.
And it's worth remembering, should you want to own one, that Yorkies were originaly bred for kiling Rats.
Somewhere, under that coat, some trace of this instinct might well remain.
