    Nice car and not ridiculous money considering the rarity, but unless you go for one that's had a top restoration at £250k+, they tend to only look good with the roof down (most have terrible fitting hoods). Often the hardtop looks better and you can get a great one of those for well under £100k.

    My brother in law had one, bought it for peanuts while he was at Uni in Leicester in the 80's and used it as his daily runner for a few years.

    Then it was left to gradually rot away outside his house in London for years, before he decided he was never going to get round to restoring it and he'd better flog it before there was nothing left (I think he still flogged it for several times what he paid for it, despite it being a giant lump of rust by the time it actually went).

    When I was a kid one of the neighbours lads ( about 15 years older than me) had been in the army (BAOR) and had made friends with a number of American army lads who were also stationed on the Rhine.
    He somehow managed through one of them to get into contact with other Americans in the UK who helped him find a bloody big Indian motorcycle similar to the one below plus a monster of a Yankee car which may have been a Cord Roadster ! It certainly looked like one, although I'm not 100% certain my memory is still recalling stuff from the mid 50's too accurately. I do recall whatever the make was he had a difficult time getting the car down the back tenfoot however.
    His vehicles triggered my interest in classic vehicles.
