Hahaha, the joy of actually passing is immense, I am happy for you pal.

Bergy yeah I agree with the excess option, might try and put my mum and dads name on the car insurance policy, they have 20> years no claims... so yeah might work. Cheers.

Eternal - they would have to be the reg keeper - and insure with you as a named driver.
If you intend to buy and then add them - I doubt you'd get the lower quote.

You deffinatley get cheaper insurance by adding your parrents as named drivers, worked for me and even now its still knocking a few quid off.

So you are saying get my parent to own it, then add me... that seems more sensible to be fair.
I will have a look, cheers.

Car Insurance is a bit of a dark art.

Lots of people benefit from it, when they shouldn't.
Wrecks the future of guys with potential to drive, because arseholes cannot stop claiming.

Cheers everyone, nothing is more liberating than that first drive! (well, apart from maybe running around the Monaco track nude the night before the race... :bandit:)

jersey - I haven't done that - but I can remember my first solo drive post-test at 17 and feeling a bit anxious.
Strange because I'd driven on roads from about 14 with a brother-in-law. The Saturday before my test my instructor persuaded me to go round and round Shepherds Bush 'green' ( W.London ) changing lanes constantly for about 30 minutes. Even all those 47 years ago it was a bit daunting. Cars are so much easier to drive now.

I still remember my first drive after passing my driving test: a 5 day (competitive) drive around the UK! ;)

Absolution? Cracking Album. Origins of Symmetry is fabulous too. Still, don't you find driving with music makes it harder to hear the engine, considering you've just passed?
