We could have had Hoddle, Waddle, Gascoigne and Lineker in the same team if H&W delayed going to France for a little while.

    They must've had a hard life! <laugh>

I read something a while ago about pictures of youngsters from previous decades.
It suggested that we think that they look older because of the styles of the time.
A lot of people pick a style early and don't deviate from it much.
We see these people later in life and associate it with these now-older people.

I must admit i did wonder if they were under 23s, Caton played in the 81 cup final (turned inside out by Ricky Villa), and the Garys Stevens and Bailey ,Mark Wright and Danny Wallace didn't really change much. Hence they have all been named. McMahon lost his hair, and Paul Walsh kept his.

The others are Brian Stein and Mel Sterland in the back row and Paul Bracewell and Nigel Callaghan in the front row.

We signed Gazza on this day in 1988 , greatest player of his generation? Certainly the most gifted English player of that era as any Spurs fan who watched him will know

Most gifted / technically competent England MF
player since Hoddle. As a Spurs supporter I am
privileged to have seen both of them in their primes.

The goal against the Arse in the semi final was one of the last games I watched with my son aged 3 and my Dad before he passed , it has special memories for us even though my son does not remember the moments it warms him to know it happened with the old boy
Dad was old school brought up on 40s 50s and 60s Tottenham but he recognised brilliance when he saw it and rated Hoddle and Gascoigne up there with the very best

Doherty in talks to rejoin Wolves after he left Atleti after six months and less than 20 mins of football played.

He’ll probably look like a footballer again with them. Definitely something in that Wolverhampton water that made that guy look competent.
