Fabrizio Romano has put out a " here we go" on Manor Solomon ,verbal agreement reached , are we going to war with the Ukrainian clubs president?
Can understand their frustration at losing him for nothing, **** scenario for them. Can’t say I saw much of him last season but bringing in depth for the wings after Lucas and Danjuma’s departures makes sense as Gil was the only other option we have, hopefully he gets some chances under Ange this season, style might suit him a lot more.
5 year deal for Solomon and medical booked for Tuesday. Pini Zahavi was the agent involved. Low risk potential high reward signing. Can’t complain at that. Leaves funds for CB(s) too. Really hope we go all in for Tapsoba and then if we shift enough deadwood, bring in van de Ven/ another too.
Are we sure that was a bright idea, given who we signed the last time Zahavi was the agent involved? As for CBs, Romano suggested it would be Adarabioyo + Tapsoba or van de Ven - which begs the question about the second LCB as Toisin is clearly the RCB depth, although the whispers about Barca terminating Lenglet's contract soon may answer that one
I'd like to think the club will prioritise it a bit differently and have Tapsoba as the must have, with Tosin or van de Ven as the squad addition. Of the three, Tapsoba is without doubt the best both in terms of current ability and also potential ceiling. Then for the secondary squad addition there'd be a choice of Prem proven, HG option Tosin, or rawer yet higher ceiling van de Ven, the latter can also fill in as a LB though which makes him a bit more appealing I'd say. I think we'd be making a mistake if we sign two of those CBs and Tapsoba isn't one of them.
Joan Laporta is talking about how confident he is that Barca will reach an agreement with us over Clement Lenglet So Tapsoba/van de Ven, Adarabioyo and Lenglet for the CB incomings?
I really hope we don't sign Lenglet, I don't think hes good enough. His passing range is decent but besides that i was left pretty underwhelmed by him.
He's decent as back up and cover but as a starter, agreed - not quick or strong enough for the PL. Lost count of the number of times he got totally skinned down that flank, and it didn't help at all that his wing back was usually Perisic who has never been a good defender. I think he'd do better in a back 4 with a proper LB next to him; playing at the edge of a back 3 left him badly exposed.
Romano's said on a show/ podcast that Kane's been speaking with those at Bayern and knows Tuchel's a fan of his but naturally any deal depends on Bayern getting Levy to sell.
I’m happy with it so long as this doesn’t affect any deal for Tapsoba. Van der Ven’s a talent but he’s still quite raw who’ll likely need a year or two to start establishing himself and we’re in dire (or Dier!) need of a CB who’s a bit more along with their development that can come into our backline and offer a guarantee (or as close to a guarantee) of instantly significantly improving it - Tapsoba does that, van der Ven or Tosin don’t.
Tapsoba Watch Fabrizio Romano claims that, even though we've agreed personal terms with Micky van de Ven, we remain in talks with Tapsoba - which starts to make it look like Lenglet might be us doing a Paratici Exodus Watch Matteo Moretto claims that Villarreal are looking to bring in Davinson Sanchez - with Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Spartak Moscow also interested
Reports in Germany and elsewhere reckon Kane’s said ‘yes’ to Bayern and personal terms won’t be an issue. Bayern unsure if we have a price for Kane though or simply class him as unsellable. I think if a foreign team bids between £90m-£100m we’ll sell.
