I agree that something has to change, not sure if PR is the answer. Can you imagine a referendum for PR 52/48 split, would take 7 years to implement and still people would want a return to the old system.
Personally l would like a better process at local level of MP selection.

Responsibility and accountability also needs to change. Re Hancock - not a Doctor or any kind of health background. They either shouldn't be put in that position in the first place, or have a very clear remit on how they go about enacting policy without having the background knowledge and experience to do so - I.e. no making **** up and trying to implement it without asking an expert. It won't stop them doing silly things, of course, but at least there would be a chain of accountability when things go wrong.

At the minute it's like me crashing two planes together and insisting it's the chief of the air staff to blame, and getting away with it.

It’s strikes me that all appointments made were based on Brexit support not skills or knowledge - ‘which side are you on’ loyalty not best fit. In principle if they build the right team around them it can still work, in the example of Hancock, if they appoint their MP’s wife horse racing mate like Dildo Harding who also know nowt about health it’s a disgrace and the huge death toll is the evidence

There's only one person who keeps mentioning Corbyn. He'll be along shortly with another sixth-form hot take, no doubt.

Get with the three pledges mate:

    • Don't mention Boris (Or he's living rent free in your head.)
    • Don't mention Brexit ((Or you're not democratic.)
    • Don't mention anything a Tory has done (Unless you demonstrate balance by mentioning something comparable from a Labour MP.)
Only then will the forum police allow you to post without repeating the same idiotic drivel day after day after day.

Boris Johnson was Prime Minister less than a year ago..

    But equally
    • Don't say anything that isn't an outright condemnation of the Conservatives (or someone will be along directly to try misrepresent your words so they can make out that you're evil)
    • Don't say anything that isn't complimentary of the Labour Party (or someone with a postcode in their username will be along to put you on ignore [not that that's a loss to anyone]).
I'm just glad that mentioning Jeremy Corbyn, even when its in context, is no longer met by the standard response "you do realise he's not Labour leader anymore, don't you".

I've praised the government on this thread and criticised Labour, so have a few others.

I dont deliberately misrepresent what people have said but I do mention 'facts' that aren't accurate.

One poster doesn't represent any other tbf.

Points aren't necessarily aimed at you, but they are intended to illustrate things that happen on this thread.

Pointing out facts that aren't true is good, and I wholeheartedly agree with you that that is the right thing to do. There are more posters than the one I assume you are referring to that post incorrect information as the truth.

I know mate, I only answer for me though.

I'll always try to disagree/agree/like any any post from anyone on here.

I've only ever put one person on ignore, which was on this thread, some people are so fanatically blinkered it's pointless discussing anything or indulging in harmless ribbing.

You put me on ignore because you couldn't take being called Mister Tickets after spending all your time calling me every name under the sun, and not in a harmless ribbing way either.

You're 'some people'. There's a correct fact for you, because I know you still read these.

Another one who's crossed the line between sympathy and zealotry, purporting to criticise both sides and not fall out with others while exclusively criticising one side and falling out with anyone who disagrees.

Interesting that you said misrepresent while you misrepresented something.

Sad because it's true, or do I mean funny.

Sunak will be thought of in the same way Truss is ...

... just lasted a bit longer.

Another one who thought that saying things has no consequences.

And yet more of that wonderful Rishi Sunak brand of honesty, openess and integrity ...

... it's just like Boris was never kicked out <laugh>

"Rishi Sunak is facing transparency questions over private jet travel and thousands of pounds in Conservative party donations after they were recorded as coming from a small company linked to a multimillionaire businessman."
