Ironically when Carey throws at the stumps Bairstow is in his ground. He wanders out of the crease whilst the ball is in flight.

Clearly, Stokey was fired up at the Bairstow situation, it's a pity he could go on to really rub the noses in it and get the win. Not a surprise the Aussies did it, yes technically he is out but as Stokes said not a away to win a game.

Can't wait for Broady to stump the non striker at Headingley if he wanders forward out of his crease to anticipate a run.

Carey was many yards away how is it a stumping? he’d seen Bairstow for quite a while so it’s a pre meditated thought about action, just like the sandpaper , two players on that pitch shouldn’t have been there at all . Umpires were dozy and nobody wants to win ‘unfairly’ you always want a clean win . I hate dodgy pens for us and against us ,

Neither Smith nor Warner can complain of being called cheats. If the Aussie think the Long Room was hostile, wait for Headingly

Having been travelling yesterday I'd been reading about it and getting outraged but hadn't seen it. Having now seen it, I think we're on pretty shaky ground complaining about it. Hearing all the fuss, I'd thought Carey had waited for Bairstow to wander out of the crease thinking (wrongly) that the umpire had called over. Actually, Carey caught the ball and chucked it at the stumps immediately. It was Bairstow's fault. Unless you hear the umpire call over, then you look over your shoulder to check the WK has thrown it to someone or otherwise lost interest, only then do you leave the crease. It's all a bit pathetic.

I agree, Bairstow was being a bit lazy, Carey was being opportunistic and he got lucky.

After the dismissal replays were shown of (I think) previous balls in the over and Bairstow had walked out of his crease as the ball was thrown to a slip. Clever by the cheating convict? Dumb thing to do by Bairstow? Bit of both.

I did find it hysterical that the Aussie players felt 'unsafe' walking through the members lounge of retirees (there have been suspended or something).

Its going to take an Aussie with extremely thick skin to field in front of the Western Terrace this coming test.

Ha, ha, although you can do a lot of damage with a well-placed walking frame! From the clips I've seen Warner was almost looking for a fight.
