SAFC wont santion Batth to leave, key member of the first team.

Conversations upped a notch regarding Pritchard and Stoke.

Not surprised re that, they need to get a move on with transfers and Neil + Pritchard do seem to get on well.

Player may want to leave? It’s not worth having an unhappy player in the squad if he wants to leave and someone is in for him - especially one who will likely be one of the higher earners in the squad.

Do you reckon there's anything in the idea that Batth wants to leave for personal/family reasons?

I dont know that side of the conversation, but SAFC see Batth as a key asset in the first with experience and we need to compete. With Ballard subject of interest with a high valuation..Batth is key player.

Because they can’t finish a 90 minute game and they’re past their best

He’s a class person to have as a leader - better than Evans in my view. If it’s true he has some family stuff going on that makes it a tough choice though

Here's a video of Begraoui who @Forpadydeplasterer said we were looking at. He looks a good player and different type of striker to what we have

I’d say the fact he’s a top bloke would mean we’d want to be respectful. You wouldn’t I presume

And Burnley offer 9 for Clarke, ffs if simms is worth 10 Clarke has to be worth 20 I know
Yes he is but who's going to benefit from keeping a player that's not happy, at the end of the day family comes first and if moving is what he needs to do then that's what he needs to do

It’s for the club and player to respect each other. I would hope player speaks to club, club acknowledges and if appropriate makes agreement to let player move on when a suitable replacement can be found. That may be this window or it may be January. Replacement arrives and player moves on.

The club has respected the wishes of the player, the player has respected the club and his contract.

Alternatively it may just be a matter of the club being a little more flexible to give a player more time to travel home, selecting other players for midweek cup games etc. throughout this season.

Feel a little uncomfortable speculating on a particular players circumstances. Just want to make point that there is probably a lot more going on than the glimpses of info we get on here.

Irrespective of the price, if Coventry land him, their supporters are in for a huge disappointment if they think he'll be an able replacement for Gyokeres.

    my 2 pence on simms...

had a good 1 in 3 ratio with us which always looks good and either he is an excellent judge of the ball or a couple of his 'slow pokes' were down to pure luck, unfortunately i tend to go with the luck...never seemed to really gel rarely looked to be settled/happy, most of the time his style came across as lazy.

in contrast, geldhart actually looked like he wanted to do well for the club even though he was not in his fave position (although obviously got less goals) and amad just felt like he was our player, simms could be a good one for the squad if the price was right although we really do need LND or A.N. Other front line striker sorted, would hate to have to throw semedo in until he has time to adjust.

The mistake we made is we couldnt replace him, i would trust our recruitment team to replace baath if he does leave

I wouldnt be surprised if he does stay and just see his contract out, if he really wants to go then we should sell him though - dont want to keep unhappy or unsettled people at the club

Sounds like baath might be moving on for personal reasons. Bloody shame if he does go mind. Was a rock last season and much needed experience.
