It worked the other way round. The guy who owned the restaurant explained it to me. The fisherman used to cut the heads off and throw them away and the rest of the fish was sold, eaten or sent to market. Then someone thought hold it a minute there is some good meat on there. Why don't we put it in a new dish called: Gulai Kepala Ikan (Fish Head Curry). Its now the most expensive dish in the restaurant - although at £4.50 its not bad.

You have to wonder what kind of a knobhead would think that they would throw the rest of the fish away :emoticon-0116-evilg

Kakap Merah is the name of the fish.

Not any more. Hit my target weight of 13 stone about a month ago and have stopped there. Lost 32lbs in 4.5 months. I'm 6'2", I could probs lose another 7lbs but I'm not that bothered.

No need for you to go lower than 13st mate… fella your size would end up too slight. Great work getting to 13

If you’re desperate to shift that last 7lb, just lob off a finger.

Chicken porridge (Bubur Ayam) for breakfast from the stall across the street. Perfect for those cold Jakarta mornings.

Rice porridge, with shredded chicken, peanuts, shallots, bread-like bits and sambal. You mix it all together with the liquid before eating.

Interesting again, not sure I like the sound of it but it may well be really nice. Love seeing dishes like this and the others you posted as you won't get to see them in cooking shows or in recipe books/online.
