Not sure why the controversy around the starc/duckett catch.

Was clearly not out. Guy catches the ball then slides it along the ground while trying to keep his balance. Should have done what always taught to do and catch it and keep your elbows up and roll onto your back if needed.

OTherese coukd say all those times players catch it on boundary then throw it back infield before going over is out as they had the ball in their hand for a second.

Looks caught to me. If he tosses it up in air after the catch and tips over would that be out?

Tbh the main controversy is how stupid can duckett be to try that shot at that point of the day with the ashes on the line

Maybe. Could still end up in same situation where team has won couple ODi/t29 games then wins test and that’s it.

Maybe the test needs to be worth less points?

Or maybe we could all admit the womens is being tagged on the actual ashes in an attempt to ride its coat tails and its now back fired.

If they want to grow tests then have 3 matches independent of men's

Nah. Didn’t have control. Given he put both hands down on the floor to keep balance.

Outside of Eng v Oz

Scotland knocked the West Indies out of the Qualifying for the WC today. Unbelievable that the first winners, the mighty Windies can't even qualify anymore.

Their drop been incredible over last 5 years or so but still have some huge name players. Know there was a lot of stuff going on about payments few years ago. Not sure if still an issue.

Pooran
Holder
Hosein
Joseph

all very good players

They lost to Netherlands last week on super over as well.

it was in a long time and really it was caught but you.cant argue with the rules.

Australia will just use it as motivation and beat up duckett with dort ball and scream in his face.

England need 2 centuries out of the current batsmen but I simply see them getting out quickly this morning.

why?

stokes short ball, he can't get out of the way convincingly and will likely edge or glove one up

duckett shot selection is nuts at times.

at least both have stood up here but unless they put on another 100-150 this morning England will be skittled out.

duckett says most of the pressure is on them.

classic give away there.

he has to score a 100 and knows it or should know it.

fully expect a pull to cover in 2 overs.

What a motherfucking way to lose the twatbastard Ashes. But he was out, and quick thinking of the dirty, cunning Convict. Aussies well deserve this.

duckett was pulling as expected.. o ly shock is how long it took.

bairstow being watched by Carey and he threw the ball at stunped before he was out of his ground.

like candy from a baby. absolutely shambolic from baristow and frankly thats a dropping offense now. dropped enough in 2 games to be off keeping and frankly that's just not good enough to be batting only

Fans are booing the Aussies like a footy crowd having a penalty given against their team. Truth is, the bastard Aussies playing to the whistle, to mix codes, and if Tubby Bairstow himself had done that while he was keeping wicket we'd be cheering him to the rafters, especially if he'd done it to Smith or Warner.

I have said it before
The Aussie mentality is so far ahead of ours
As teams on paper, there doesn’t appear to be much between the sides - Aussies maybe better
However - the way they are taught to participate in sport is massively different to this country.

until that gap is bridged we will always be making do with the odd win here and there against the Aussies

and that goes for a lot of sports - not all but many

Disagree. Aussie team on paper is far superior.

Warner Khawaga Labu Smith are head ad shoulder above our top 4 with only Root able to stand up to them.

Cunmins Stark Lyon are in their prime compared to Anderson/Broad and leach

The ****ing members in the LONG ROOM! They're supposed to be knowledgeable! Considering the legitimate catch taken by Starc last night that was overruled on a technicality. And as they've just pointed out now, it was okay for Pope to do similar to NZ last year. This is absolutely embarrassing. Losing is bad enough - there'll be a decade of piss-taking and memes to pay for this fanny fit.

look at when the new ball is.

this is heroic stuff from stokes.

there's only aless than 20 overs left so you have to get the majority of runs now.
