What a mess this affair has turned out to be. It is easy to forget that lives were lost due to people taking short cuts that were against the rules. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-66071830
The owner and former chairman of Fleetwood Town FC has been jailed for a multi-million pound fraud which "duped" firms into expensive energy contracts. He was jailed for 13 years. Some very dodgy people seem to become attracted to football clubs.
Leeds United are delighted to announce the appointment of Daniel Farke as the club’s new first team manager. A two time winner of the Sky Bet Championship whilst in charge of Norwich City, Farke has agreed a four-year deal at Elland Road. He did well at Norwich when they were in the Championship, but not so well when they were in the PL. Possibly due to very tight expenditure conditions?
Sad news from Millwall . Chairman dies in a tragic accident aged 70. Seems he was very popular there . https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66105440
Like him, or loath him for his attacks on the government's environmental policies, Dale Vince certainly is not afraid to be the first to try something out. "Forest Green Rovers have named Hannah Dingley as their new caretaker boss, making her the first woman to manage a professional men's team in English football."
People reckon it’s a bit of a publicity stunt by a club that like to do them and in the end they will appoint a male manager for the season . But she has worked there for a while so will know the club and got coaching experience.
Law changes for this coming season. Who'd be a referee - especially given the changes to Law 11? https://www.theifab.com/law-changes...u0SVu4dG-tOgqF0NiNBEpUmshu8EIRc5lDFpUftezTaiE
It certainly should be - I can't see too many Joe Bloggs pulling out an app to check that their angry shouts at the ref are warranted. Too many suits who don't really know the game and with nothing better to do is the problem I suspect.
IMHO this is just a clarification, albeit one that has muddied the waters. Basically it is saying that a player in an offside position can no longer gain an advantage from being there (which is absolutely right in my book) however the ball is played. The exception, I deduce is if, say a team mate kicks the ball one way which accidentally strikes a team mate and goes towards a player in an off-side position in a completely different part of the field from which the ball was initially travelling... a 1:1million chance, basically! Oh my days!! Glad I don't have to do this anymore!!!
