    Ahh OK.

Have you actually checked out his injury record or are you just relying on 'your mate' and Dyche who was looking for an excuse not to trigger a permanent deal based on the fact he isn't a 'Dyche' sort of player?

You are happy to implicate anyone at city as being clandestine, so you'd believe Dyche over the medical staff, manager, owner at City then yeah?

What do you know that they don't?
I think you'll find the answer is nothing.

He'd played 24 mins. I'm not sure playing a handful of games would trigger any permanent deal. What a crock.

So relying on a PL manager, news outlets, and supporters who would know more about their clubs players isn't enough.

24 mins in what context? 'Cos that ain't the stats I'm seeing over his career.

24 minutes for Everton, the club that had the option to buy. Thought that was obvious. If the option - yes, option - was really an obligation to buy after 5 appearances that's a pretty dumb option.

But yes what's more realistic is a club mired in a relegation battle voluntarily not playing a full back when they were in need of one and making up a fake injury as an excuse.

    It's Everton. It's a cluster ****.

He may not be prem quality or suited to a relegation battle. But he's done well for wolves and that's no reflection on how he might do in the championship.

He had a 10m price tag a couple of years ago. Tell us all (and probably 20k in club analysts and agents fees) how that suddenly came from nowhere?

If you can, perhaps you can get a gig as Callum and George's new agent?

Ah OK that's his premier league minutes despite being a squad regular until Dyche came in and after starting and completing the cup games?

I'm not saying it's a move that worked out, but did any moves work out at Everton?

So he's available 2/3rds of last season. Was a squad regular until Dyche came in. Played all of the EFL cup campaign

Got a prior record in English football that goes beyond Everton but you focus on the worst stat you can find.

Yeah that sounds about right for you.

We might just have him at the right time. He is only just 20 and has already had 2 seasons in the Championship which he will have gained experience from. He will be physically more developed, and I watched him quite a bit when playing for the England youth teams and he certainly has the ability.

I guess some people will look at Vale as being a comparison, but hopefully given the right amount of game time he can be a success with us.

He's a loan, he's got the potential to be decent value and he doesn't depend on selling someone to bring in.

I was thinking the same thing

If the season is 9 months long and as reports from the Not606 medical team have him out for 3 months (1/3rd of the season) then this is a waste of a loan slot and we're still in the same situation we're in now, or the clubs medical team (what do they know) have said he's OK.

I suppose TWT who has the better medical knowledge?

You don't know that though do you? Neither do I which is why I said 'probably'. Even for Hull City to get a behind closed doors friendly at Manchester City's training ground mid season tells you something. We have a connection somewhere along the line and someone at Manchester City must have thought we'd be decent opposition to even invite us down, and be a decent club to loan one of their best young players too for a full season. I don't read a lot into his time at PNE. They went through a long spell when no-one could score for them. So I'll repeat what I posted yesterday in answer to Sharky's ridiculous post asking 'why do you think we've signed him'. Pedigree, age, size, and obvious talent. A no brainer.

I do know he was at Preston when we played Man C 21's

I also know he tore us a new one playing for Stoke before then.

I'm not arguing with your overall point, but he's probably at a higher level already than even you've registered him at so far, with respect.

Whether he fulfils his potential with us or indeed at all is ultimately down to him, but there's no doubt he has bags of it

No relevance to Delap signing at all but his old man is assistant to Robbie Keane at Tel Aviv…a bizarre combination.

You think it's that bizarre when Acun Medya has a lot of reach in Israel?

What on earth does Acun’s reach in Israel have to do with Keane and Delap being an odd pairing?

If we’re assuming that the Ruben deal is on, I think we can probably also assume that he didn’t need surgery and is likely to be fit for the start of the season.

I don’t think we’ll sign any loan players with existing injuries, lessons have surely been learned.

I think Delap could be a cracking signing. He’s on Man City’s books for ffs. They clearly see something in him or they’d have just got rid. Ok, he hasn’t got an unblemished CV, but how many kids have who are learning the trade? It could be that Pep sees similarities in City’s style of play, so wants him to come to us. Obviously I don’t mean in our execution, but little snippets we read about Ros’s methods suggest he’s trying to follow the Man City way (eg inverted left backs). Who know’s, if we look after him well we could be nearer the front of the queue for future loans from Man City. After a bad spell at Preston, he’s gonna be desperate to save his Man City career, at a club where he can recognise some of the methodology he is listening to in training.
In our position, we have the option of signing mediocre but dependable players or taking a bit of a risk, to get that extra bit of quality. We probably have the core of a dependable squad in place, so Rosenior wants to go for the latter with the bit of money he has. And if most come off, we will be in with a shout for the play offs.

Part of this mornings article by Baz Cooper.

Meanwhile, City are not believed to be in the running to sign QPR goalkeeper Seny Dieng, despite reports earlier in the week suggesting a move was likely. It's also understood the Tigers have shown an interest in ex-Wolves left-back Ruben Vinagre, but reports claiming the deal for the Sporting ace is done are believed to be wide of the mark.
