Yeah, they fight for their rights by burning innocent peoples cars, looting innocent peoples shops.....OH?
ULEZ is just another way for Mayor Khan to gather money for his spending on rainbow crossings. How is that money used to reduce pollution because if people have to travel in the zone and can't afford to change their vehicle then they will make the journy. No reduction in pollution but a great form of income for him to waste. My own mayor (Andy Burnham) has realised this and stopped the ULEZ plan for Manchester until he can find a ligitimate reason to enforce it.
1997. Country ****ed, NHS on it’s arse, schools falling to bits, streets full of homeless people, crime at record levels. Tories in power for 18 years. 2023 Country ****ed, NHS on it’s arse, schools falling apart, streets full of homeless people, crime at record levels. Tories in power for a mere 13 years.
Our neighbours over the allotment have a mature fig tree. Because they are elderly we often water their plot for them in the summer, so they let us have armfuls of figs late around July/august.
As a Londoner I am very happy with Sadiq, and fully support ULEZ expansion (even though I had to bin off my 20 year old 3 Series recently). My mate used to live near the Euston Road and his daughter had terrible asthma as a child. That stopped completely when they moved to leafy Hampstead. About time something was done about air quality in the capital, but Khan provides the added bonus of really winding up bitter old gammons who rarely go within 100 miles of London. All power to his woke muslamic elbow, I say. Oh, and if the ULEZ money is used to subsidise public transport, I’m all for that too
The argument is that it deters people from entering the zone. Unfortunately, the facts don't support that argument, and it has also created congestion in hte outer zones. They can't say with any certainty what it has done to levels measured there, as they didn't measure before, but it is likely that increased congestion has increased measured levels. It's funny to read someone claiming they support it, and then saying they know people that left London because of the pollution. It's actually far lower than it's been since the 1960's despite Khan's claims, but moving to the country doesn't necessarily help if the asthma is triggered by particulates as ammonia and emissions from mainland Europe among other things can make levels of some pollutants and secondary particulates there higher. They're just not measured. The money used is (arguably) to prop up the failing London Transport, which ironically causes higher levels of pollution than the traffic. Khan ignorantly tries to claim this is simply 'dust' which shows he's either clueless, a liar, or both. Londoners seem to be stupid enough to fall for it simply because Khan wears a red rosette. Starmer backs Khan's lies for the same reason.
You're at least bright enough to not try to engage in the actual topic and show your ignorance and stupidity even further.
Bloody, Buggery, Bollocks, Boris, Brexit. According to some on here, this is what we should aspire to.
How much carbon does it take to scrap a perfectly good car that runs on very clean fuel compared to a few decades ago & build a new one mining rare earth minerals in the Congo by hand with little nig nogs ? Just to make the sun less hotterer Dumb commies like following orders from despots . Enjoy your high crime & social degradation Londoners
Anyone that has used the failing London underground knows that cramming more foreigners in to a dirty pipe is way worse for your health than walking or driving In London. You blow your nose after 30 minutes & literally black carbon from the iron in the air comes out .
I have to be honest, I don't like London a lot, because it's too busy. If Sadiq keeps making it greener, then that's a good idea.
He's just making it so only wealthy people can drive keeping the rif raf on the creaking overcrowded public transport. It's not any greener you silly old sod
