So, tomorrow night a person accused of racism and facing a police investigation will lead out the national side in a match at Wembley. Is this the right course of action? This sends out a farcical message and makes a mockery of the FA's crackdown on racism. Of course, Terry has not been found guilty of any offence and strongly reject all the claims against him. But is alllowing him to be captain of England amid all this controversy the right thing to do? No, I don't think it is.

I reckon it is - he's innocent until proved guilty. If and when he is found guilty then he should be banned from all football for a couple of years imo.

    Stoke fan in peace...
I've heard that Terry will NOT start Tuesdays game, but that was last night Monday?
If true I don't agree with his selection, but I don't pick the team..
Innocent until proven otherwise but, I thought it was said, on Monday.
Terry will not start because the F.A. are worried about the reception he might get?

IMHO it's wrong if he plays we'll see what Crap fellow decides to do.

ENJOY the game on Saturday but I hope it's not too enjoyable after which..
Good luck for the rest of the season <ok>

If Terry had any dignity he would voluntarily step down for the good of the team until the matter is closed. That would've earned him some respect from all quarters and not put the onus on others to either back him or sack him. The fact he carries on regardless, as he did with the Wayne Bridge 'affair' speaks volumes about the type of person he is.

agreed. despite what we think, the fa can't really condemn him until a verdict has been reached.

Terry should be no where near the England team until after the hearing.

I know there is no comparison between the two cases, but, by that logic, should Faurlin have been nowhere near our team last season until after the hearing on his transfer?

If anyone who came under investigation was automatically banned from playing for his club or country then there would be a sudden increase in the number of allegations for all sorts of things.

If a player is suspended ... or just left out ... because of any allegation, then it could look like they were guilty before the investigation has taken place.

It is a decision that has to be made on an individual basis.

There are very few players currently suspended by their club, the most high profile being Titus Bramble who has been arrested and subsequently charged with sexual assault. (Quite rightly too)

As distasteful and obnoxious as this case could be it is not in the same league as the above ... yet.

Eamon we are talking about the England football captain and the serious allegation of racism which all football clubs are against.

anyone know how long this investigation is going to take - seems to be dragging on a tad - have the fa decided to delay their investigation until after the results of the police investigation - you would think it was in the best interests of the fa to finish the investigation swiftly

Wouldnt this fall under employment law rather than criminal law? If so he should be suspended whilst an investigation is carried out. I was at the game, Terry was barrated by large sections of the crowd, tempers were lost by professional players who perhaps acted out of character, havent we all said things in the heat of the moment that we later regret? Terry is a big nose lying cheating white trash twat. You cant make a silk purse out of a pigs ear, and he is 100% pork!!

I should also make the point that in many jobs, you will be suspended from work when an accusation of racism is made against you, not least when the police become involved.

Looking at it from a footballing point his form is crap and he shouldnt be playing anyway, Lescott & Cahill should be starting, Capello couldnt pick the crack in his arse let alone our England team.
