Yesterday i saw an ad that said "radio for sale, £1, volume stuck on full" I thought "i can't turn that down".
I think plenty were , but honesty in football fans is so lacking that they revert instantly to claiming they didn't want the player when the club doesn't get the player. The same applies when players leave.. they'll say they are not bothered and don't want players that don't want to be at the club. Essentially fanbases are the guy that gets knocked back and then claims they never fancied the target anyway...ie petty.
