What makes then Turkish eggs?

 

Labneh. It’s like a sort of hung yoghurt so it’s thicker and fattier.

 

Sounds good.

 

Yeah. They got the labneh wrong but the rest was great and it’s more of an Italian place than Middle Eastern. Huge block of black pudding for £2.

Out for Padang lunch today. Interesting selection of dishes.

You just eat the ones you want and the rest go back - ended up with the fish head curry, beef rendang, cows ankle ligaments, potatoes in chili and chicken, plus rice

 

Wow! Don't think I'd eat that fish head curry though.

 

It was actually very nice - just eat the cheeks, behind the gills and top of the head where there’s some nice meaty bits.

 

If it's genuinely nice then I'd give it a go, doesn't look great though but that's great because I'm not used to it. Cows ankle ligaments, how were they?

 

Bit chewy and gelatinous. Somebody dumped it on my plate before I could ask what it was!
