Belting good day and England are well into the game despite the stupid dismissals........ Day 3 pitch should still be a good batting surface so could be close to parity around lunchtime....... If Stokes and Brook can see this through until then things will be looking rosie to build a lead and put pressure on Aussies........ also helps that Lyon looks to be out of the series.......

Praying for it already are you pal lol ? There was meant to be quite a bit about tomorrow and Saturday, but it now looks like they'll be 3 days relatively clear of any. I wouldn't be backing the draw anytime soon !
Just in case we're needing some divine intervention, doesn't hurt to get in early. :emoticon-0131-angel

Funnily enough, I think the draw is quite likely.
Let's say we get up to their score, or even have a small lead.
I just can't see us getting them all out cheaply enough to win the game.
I can see Australia batting out most of the remainder of the game once they're back in.

Vaughan sounding really bitter in his comments at the moment. Clearly he’d prefer us to be losing 16 out of 17 playing old style, getting out wafting outside off stump than playing some silly shots but doing much better.

Good days cricket, much fun. I hope the Aussies can be nudged into playing for a win if it’s fairly even after the first innings. We still outscore them massively per over, which they try to negate with a slow over rate. I was surprised to see both teams fined and docked world championship points for slow over rate in the first test. Even with Lyon they were much slower than us.

There's never a dull moment is there? Much as I enjoy and endorse the Bazball attitude, there must surely be times to back off, and today was one. The short ball barrage was a smart, if obvious, tactic from Australia and Root of all people should have realised that it was time to take a step back and let them bowl themselves out. Rope a dope.

Thankfully, Stokes did realise it and decided to play for tomorrow.

Fireworks in the morning!

I'd like to see Stokes play like he did today, let Brook and Bairstow take the attack to them. We've seen before how Stokes can shepherd the tail. If we can bat until at least tea, it will give us the best opportunity to win the game !
