Great. We'll develop him into a world-class 21-yr old, he'll never get a game for the seniors and then we'll flog him to Bayern Munich.

He’s 16 years old for goodness sakes! Why is it even being reported as though it is a summer signing.

I guess anything is better than Maguire. Oh well!

Bayern make an offer of £70m for Kane. let's get in there, guaranteed goals, sod the midfield we can plug the gaps later on .

I wonder what that pig Levy thinks of that. Bayern won’t pay £100m and Kane would prefer to stay in the premier league.

I think it's now time for Kane to decide that he wants to go, and where to.

**** being loyal to Levy, he tried that last time and they still won **** all, I'd say he kept his part of the deal. If we don't then get him, we look elsewhere.

I'm sure we 'only' need three signings this window.

The spine; striker, CM and centre half. Maybe a keeper, depends on the DDG situation, but not a priority on the grand scheme of things.

The takeover is the biggest stumbling block though, obvs.

Bayer's previous transfer record is €80m a couple of years ago. If Levi insists on £100m that equates to €116m at the moment - I can't see them spending that much - but you never know, the BL isn't a walk in the park any more so they need to remain competitive especially when Dortmund have just hit the jackpot selling Bellingham. Hopefully someone had a quiet word and tapped up Kane while he was at Carrington on England duty

    Fck Kane.

It's not about this player or that player.

The thing that disappoints me more than anything is that once again there's been fck all preparation done before the transfer window.

We are as always, like a dog in the park chasing after balloons.

    The rest is immaterial.

I don't accept that. ETH seems to me like a dedicated and methodical manager, but he's not the one driving transfers. Its as if Woody has come back for one more window. We need a world class striker as a priority, so why are we wasting almost 50% of our transfer budget (before sales) on a midfielder. We can live with the players we have in the centre of the park, plus there are some promising academy players that we can bring on as the season progresses. Quite why we aren't chasing down a striker as a priority is beyond me.

I'm not aiming it at Ten Hag.

It's either the Glazers limiting funds, or those above Ten Hag not doing their homework, or both.

One thing is clear though, we haven't planned at all for who we want with the possible exception of Mount.

There's no excuse for not lining up first, second, third choice CF's for when the transfer window opened.

Perhaps we are all being harsh, maybe it will all come into focus as the window progresses but I do worry that our primary targets will slip away while we dither over the odd £5m here and there - again....

Who do you think our primary targets are?

Genuine question bcos I've got no idea and nobody else seems to.

Is there any reason why anyone on here would know?

It's hardly like Ten Hag can come out and say; our targets are X, Y and Z, as all those players are no doubt under contract.
So tens of millions would just be immediately added.

We don't know what's actually happening, it's all just gossip, and that's the truth of it.

We can only assume, in June, that the teams needs are being in some way looked at.

TBH, we said all this last summer, and it didn't turn out to be that bad a window.

I think nowadays it's fairly well know who clubs are in for.

We were in a different position last summer.

New manager, horrible end to the season, new DoF and CEO.

I could understand that things weren't likely to be planned well.

But given the season we've just had and the fact we're supposed to push on to the next level it's all just the same as always.

I hope I'm wrong but I fully expect this window to be as underwhelming as ever.

The world knows we are in for a striker, a robust midfielder and a decent defender. It ain't rocket science.....

But, we're supposed to name them.

Go to the press, hold a conference, name names!

**** sake, even typing it feels ridiculous. When was this ever a thing.

Nobody goes to the press and names names.

Everyone knows City and Arsenal are in for Rice, Livpl were in for McAllister, Madrid in for Bellingham, and even that United are in for Mount without anyone holding a press conference.

It's clear that we need a striker and it's also clear those responsible within the club have not got a clue who we're going for.

    You didn't say that though.

You said we didn't know. Why would we?

The only definite is we're interested in Mount, as we have made offers.
Everything else is just media guff.

And the only way we would actually know anything, is if the club came out and stated it.

Pretty sure there are people within the club who do know our targets ffs.

I said it's fairly well known who clubs are in for.

It's a simple point that you can easily name the players other clubs are in for.

If we were in for players it would be known, just like it is for Mount.

It's clear we're not, which shows there's no plan in place for any specific targets.

Given the fact we need a striker, it's not that difficult to expect we'd be in for at least one of the usual suspects. We're not.

So what you think is if the press/twitter don't know then it can't be?
