OK, Nigel Pearson was in the denial at the time, but he did say more than once in his last interview that he expected a couple of loans during the international break. It could have been a smoke screen of course to try to push the interviewer off the real scent, or he could have been mischief making in the knowledge that he knew he wouldnt be here anyway. There is little doubt that we are getting down to the bare bones so to speak, so can we expect anyone in before Saturday as Barmby tries to restore our run after two bad defeats?
How would anyone currently at the club know who the Pearson Team were looking at? This is the problem we now have, we need someone who not only has scouting skills and knowledge, but also someone who knows the process.
I'd imagine NP submitted a list if targets to AP, I'm sure he'll know some of the targets. Irrelevant though, it's Barmbys team now, he'll get in the players he wants.
With Nick Barmby I assume off the playing staff for the time being, that is a further reduction of a player, so we defo need some cover.
With the management situation being up in the air I doubt we've been looking at all. If NB is installed as caretaker manager tomorrow he might look to do something but my guess would be that he will be concentrating on speaking to our current players and going through his plans and what he wants from them ready for Saturday
and you dont think that he has been talking to the players today or even last week and over the weekend?
If the club was always going to offer him the position, then he probably has. If what has been reported is true, that Joyce was going to come in with NB as his no. 2 then possibly not as Joyce would have had his own plans/ideas that differed to those of NB
Pearson's last words to me were 'arrgggghhh', as I bundled him into the back of the transit last Wednesday night. You haven't seen me, right.....
Of cause he can, Horton did it quite well, but maybe his remit will be only to concentrate on the coaching/management side.
Though of course I didn't write 'dye', so I must have meant that he should DIE (possibly of AIDS or SARS)
I wasn't sure whether you were saying something along these lines...
and as he hit the side wall of the van, no doubt he uttered: "a grand old painter died last night his writings on a wall before he went he bad us well and said good night to us all.......drink to me, drink to my health...."
