The compensation for Nigel Pearson was around the 700K mark we wanted to pay after all. Their chairman tried to up it to 1.2M but we stuck to our guns and it paid off They call him "Top" for a reason
I have spoke about this young man on this board several times!! a good bloke and has the clubs interests at heart! Welcome back Nige......
Well chuffed hes a leicester fan, On the brightside it was nice having sven for manager and we have a good team with no loans to worry about so thumbs up
From the Hull local paper. I think it was always going to be unlikely that Allam would get his £1.2 million and this stand off would have probably harmed Hull in the long term. Just glad it was Allam who blinked first because it might work out best for everyone.
poor old hull, can't seem to catch a break at the moment...im sure things will improve for them soon..
like I said before Source? Where does it quote them figures, never mind what it says in the daily's as they have been wrong with so many things just lately. The fact of the matter is that nobody knows the true value so for people to quote figures on here is pure guess work.
Congratulations, you're the first person ever to believe what it said our local rag, the last time they broke a story, it was about the cod wars in 1972(when they used to actually employ reporters). It might be £700k, it might be 50p, it might be £1m, only the clubs know for sure. Even that story only mentions Pearson's £700k contract release being triggered, there's no mention of additional payments for Shaky and Walshy, if there are any. Either way, this article is a bit previous, not to mention being embarrassing juvenile.
Our local paper is really good so Greatness_Since_1884 probably thought that yours match our high standards - guess not by your post. Regardless you are correct that only the clubs know and will always know as I doubt that they will never release this info - doesn't matter in the long run who 'won' the negotiations as 500k is peanuts to both chairman and this is it basically a pissing contest between multi-millionaires.
Unfortunately, if you want well written and well informed local news round here, you're better off with the Yorkshire Post, though that tends to be rather Leeds-centric(Our local rag is only really useful if you're looking to buy an eight year old Ford Fiesta).
Just for a laugh, I was going to post a link to one, but the site has crashed. Which just about sums up our local rag.
Will a Focus do? http://motors.thisishull.co.uk/car-details.lml?car_id=21795954 Compensation still not agreed according to Matt Dean on Twitter(Head of Sport, BBC Radio Humberside), but he expects it to be sorted by tomorrow.
About 11am this morning Burnsy on Radio Humberside mentioned that Hull were stalling on Pearson signing to Leicester, and that Pearson may be forced to quit his post at Hull. Also that Hull may sue Pearson. However since I have returned back home Sky Sports News are expecting Pearson to be appointed later today......but wont announce anything until tomorrow as they wont get much media coverage with the England game being played tonight!
Simon Clark(BBC Look North) has just tweeted that Hull City will be making a statement on Pearson this afternoon.
