I missed most of yesterday, just watching some of the sets now.

Arctic Monkeys were underwhelming. The songs from the early albums lacked their edginess and the songs from the latter albums are ****e (at least not my thing).

The thing I really like about Glastonbury coverage though is that there's so much variety that you get to hear some bands that you wouldn't really ever listen too by accident or chance. Last year, that performance for me was Khruangbin.

This year, for me, that band is Young Fathers. I'm sure plenty of people are familiar with them, but I'm listening to them for the first time. Their set is exceptional. I very much doubt that many sets will top this one this weekend. Absolutely brilliant.

Chvrches also magnificent, but not surprising. I really liked their last album particularly.

I've seen some footage and it's nowhere near what they where like at their prime.

I'm hoping for better than last night

If by excellent do you mean exactly the opposite the crowd at a festival where hoping for?

I'm getting to old if "Aitch" passes as music.

Or is this bloke out the crowd day?

AM were ****e and I'm a fan of their earlier stuff. The early tracks they did play were slowed down (maybe intentionally) because of his voice problems. They even ruined 505. After they finished watched some highlights (is it Hot Chip??). Least the crowd seemed happy and up for it.

Loved Gabriel’s set, the singer is quite flamboyant but some great songs and he can sing.
    Edit…
In fact, scrub that. They are bloody brilliant, stole the show so far for me.

I went into work never having heard of the Manic Street Preachers but they were exhilarating and made a huge impression on me ...

... watching them at Glastonbury makes me think their tribute band would do a better job.

    Sad when that happens.

Never heard of them, but I'll try it on the IPlayer later. Love finding new stuff, even if I probably won't listen to it again.

Currently enjoying the performance of Billy No Mates. Can't imagine myself streaming her music, but she's a talented lass and it's an engaging and energetic performance. Maggie Rogers was the same though better.

Rick Astley and Blossoms probably gate crashed my top 3 so far. Pretty sure the crowd enjoyed it too.

Great songs and quite entertaining ...
