I quite like how time stood still in Cuba, at least it was one place on earth that wasn't totally westernised. Sort of strange romance about it, I kept meaning to go there but never did.

Obviously I dont like the EU. I'm torn on NATO. The idea behind it is comforting and should make people feel a lot safer but as with all organisations as they grow, arrogance begins to set in and sometimes they fall in to the trap of starting to think they can dictate to people.

I'm not sure what it's like now, how much poverty has affected it, but about 20 yrs ago I had that same impression of it from documentaries. Very much a romantic history about the place.

If Putin and Russia are defending themselves from his neighbours who are acting aggressive and don't like them, then the same sympathies must be passed on to Israel. They are both using the same excuse for their unprovoked acts of aggression.

I work with someone from there, she said everything is just a struggle. Everything and the stores are always empty, which just depresses you.

Even if you get money, you can't even spend it. Sanctions play a major role, but corruption is rife.

I loved the old pictures of the place and the dodgy street traders who would sell any piece of junk. Rum, cigars and guitars and that latin american feel. Now the Americans have kissed and made up with them (they have haven't they?) the place will change, shame.

No doubt it was because the UK raised house prices or something and that made Russians anxious about the price of milk in Stalingrad so they launched a fullscale invasion and ethnic purge.

Well, poverty won't affect the landscape of it, no. It will be warm, it might even be warmer now than it was 20 years ago due to global warming
