Good players, but not one of them woukd get close to a world 11 Tonali is a good young player that could develop. Or coukd be the next aqualani and struggle to meet the pace of them prem (shevchenko, crespo always struggled moving from Italy to prem). chiesa has had a shocking injury at Juve and dropped off a cliff. Before that was a good player, remains to be seen if can hit those heights again. Szobo again, good young player. Could develop into very good.
Fair wnough. But 'world class' doesn't have to mean getting into THE world 11. There are plenty of world class players who wouldn't make a first 11. Likewise, would Liverpool have any in a World 11 right now? Maybe Van Dijk a couple of yers ago, but injuries seem to have impacted his game. But as you pointed out, the players we are targetting all have age on their side and the chance to further develop, despite being internationals already.
They may not be world class players (yet) but what we’re building is a world class team with years of development also. Slowly but surely. It’s like your lot.. Fabinho, Matip, Robertson, Nunez aren’t world class individuals but have obviously been such a huge part of a great team over the last few years minus Nunez. I mean Joe Gomez?
