    He just isn't a premier league player. I think he keeps getting signed/loaned because of his versatility, but I wonder if he is versatile because he isn't good enough to cement a starting spot in any one position.

    I think they'd be a good move for him tbh. 3 years consecutively qualifying for Europe having won a trophy last season. Doesn't need to uproot his family entirely and they get among the biggest crowds in the country.

    Probably wouldn't play every week but I don't think he'll get a better offer in terms of stature of club and wages.

    Really? Why?

    Not seen a huge amount of him but when I have he seems a great passer and able to dictate tempo from central midfield. Known to the manager, I'd be keen if JWP was to leave. As I said, not seen a huge amount of him and what I did see was at Swansea City so happy to be told otherwise.

    Yeah I'd be very happy with Downes. Last summer there were a few Prem Clubs after him, including ourselves, so he's clearly regarded as a level higher than the Champ. Still young as well.
