Suppose if it means keeping Saudi Franchise FC away from top spot then it's served it's purpose

I like reading that Rice still favours Arsenal.

For all their recent success Arsenal a historically bigger club, and ties in with Rice attitude throughout his career if he’s thinking ‘you know, I’m a bigger impact at Arsenal’.

Rice for Arsenal would be a beast, whereby at City he’s just another layer.

Apparently United have offered £40 million, Maguire and Engala, which has been matched by Exeter with a chop suey roll with a bite out and a copy of Boris Johnson’s book.

The more I've thought about it, based off the fact he won't be able to train until later in pre-season, I don't think we will get any sort of resolution to the Ross Stewart situation this window. Which means I'm pretty confident he will be a Sunderland player for the first half of the season at least.

The most likely scenario, IMO, is that we lose him on a free next summer. I certainly can't see anybody paying more than £5m for him this window, and then come January he's able to sign for any non-English club for free on a pre-contract. Rangers come to mind as an obvious.

How frustrating that is depends on your perspective. It's obviously incredibly frustrating because he's a very, very good player. But we paid very little for him, so its not like its a huge loss of actual money (just potential money). If Hemir has already hit the ground running and is close to replacing his goals, then at the very least we can look back at Ross Stewart as being an excellent signing who was part of the turnaround to get us out of League One.

I think, to different degrees, subconsciously we all turn to sport in order to forget about our own and the worlds problems. Now it seems that the worlds problems are taking sport over. We are putting years of history and tradition into the hands of some people who just dont give a ****. Alot of sports have had their souls gradually peeled away for years, but this now is next level stuff.

There will be a break away super-league in a couple of years followed by a deal between the football authorities and the new league.

    Just like in the golf.
