He still looks a bit chunky, but one thing he can do is score. He made that look very easy, but he had to make the decision quickly where he needed to put it and then hit the ball in the right direction and keep it low. Should we be playing him more centrally?
Yep, looked like he played the % game and side footed it into the corner. Smart move on his weaker foot.
From the little I've seen of him, he seems quite a quick-witted player who has a good sense of what is happening on the pitch for someone so young, and he also seems very direct once he has a sniff of a goal. What I worry about is he often seems a bit lost on the pitch and can't impose himself on games. Whether this is lack of confidence or lack of fitness or a mental frailty, I'm not sure. I really hope he comes good because he clearly has a lot of talent, especially in front of goal.
Max Aarons played 89 mins for England U21s in their opening match of the Euro U21 Championships. Czech R U21s 0:2 England U21s (Jacob Ramsay; Emile Smith-Roe).
Didn't watch the game, but from the highlights on UEFA's official site, Max was at LB (Red No.2 in the bottom right of this screenshot)
Apparently Max's absence with a cold clinched top spot in the group -- according to Paddy D: "Norwich City defender Max Aarons is expected to return to training later on Monday after sitting out England Under-21s’ 2-0 win over Israel with a cold which sealed top spot in Group C."
