This is exactly the point I was trying to make that footballers are often accused of anything that you can think of due to money, fame and the crazy life that they live. If the club is reacting to every accusation made without waiting for formal due process, there’d be no players left on the pitch.

yeah, but in neither case is there photographic or audio evidence, whereas in Greenwood's case, everyone has seen her and heard him.

We should just give you on that idea until we see otherwise. I read that the ownership shares are distributed across the six Glazers, thereby making it difficult to get a consensus for sale. Some of them want to sell, others want to stay. It has created a fked up situation for the sale process.

Let’s all just move on mentally to safe ourselves from further Glazers pain that now feels like long Covid.

McTominay & Maguire + 60m for Rice? I wouldn't be too unhappy at that myself.

    Where's that come from?

I'd also be ok with it.

Essentially, you're getting McTominay for free if those figures are right, which is not bad.

He's not that good a player, but gratis is a good deal.

McTominay should be worth £25-35m. And Maguire £30m. Rice certainly ain’t worth £120m!

If Bellingham went for £88m, Rice is certainly worth no more than £60m. I like the player but it will be ridiculous spending closer to £100m to get him. I’d say £70m straight cash payment should tempt West Ham. He won’t win us the title or even get us close to it if he’s the only signing that we make.

Rice is going to Arsenal, it's gone too far down the line for it not to happen.

We've upped our bid on Mason Mount.

    Chelsea still pushing for more.

Apparently a £10m difference between the two figures. It's going to get done.

Not really a good measure in my book, i have seen too many Dortmund players move to other leagues for big money and not really live up to the standard they seemed to have there.

True! But also there’s been many players within the league that moved to bigger clubs only to become more of a squad player after commanding huge sums in transfers. We have seen many of them even at this club over the last ten years.

At least Mount deal looks imminent and at £60m, I think he represents more of value for us than Rice at £100m given what the team needs in creating chances and more goals.

Moyes is a great fan of McTominay - a player plus cash deal for Rice would be a shrewd move, particularly as ETH doesn't play him. All we need to do is move Fred on to Fulham and use the money in the Rice deal and we could effectively have him for the same price as Mount. I know who I would prefer.

What would be starting midfield be with Rice in the squad? My concern is that Rice wouldn’t provide firepower needed considering we were actually strong defensively last year if you discount those matches where we lost our heads.

Eriksen has to take a step back, he can't play 90 minutes every game but he is an exceptional player to start/sub throughout the season. Rice is the ideal player for our midfield going forward

    We sold Zidane Iqbal today.

Disappointed bordering on angry because I thought Ten Hag was going to develop some of this crop of U21's coming through and Zidane was one of the best.

I think we'll sell most of them off.

Garnacho, Mainoo, Pellestri look likely to remain.

So, we are replacing a more attacking player with a defensive one when we already have Casemiro and knowing too we need more creative force than a defensive one? Except if the intention is to move Rice up the pitch to provide as much assists as Eriksen did in the last season. I don’t see the direct replacement there.
