We should all be thanking Robin Van Persie for that!

Great news if he stays and extends his deal, though the only blemmish I can see is perhaps other members of the squad maybe a little p*ssed at the fact that a player who wanted to leave the club is getting a hefty wage increase and the one's who thus far have stayed loyal so to speak aren't getting any reward, but that's just me being pessimistic.

Seems reasonable if it's true. If we get the CL it will be affordable and if we don't, I doubt he'll stick around anyway.

Also, maybe he's heard now, from the horses mouth (Parker,) what it's like to play for the Chavs when things don't go quite right for you. Can you imagine Modric making the impact there that he does for us? I really can't.

I think this is a load of rubbish! Modric will not sign a new contract with us until it's certain we will be playing in the Champions League. An article without a quote is just someone thinking.

Quite possible, but no player likes to come out and say that, they like to hide it behind "football reasons"...can't see any myself atm in this instance.
