    Fleetood Town.

The current club was officially established in 1997 but, in two previous incarnations, the club's history dates back to 1908. The original club, Fleetwood F.C. Folded in 1976 because of financial difficulties.
The club was re-established in 1977 as Fleetwood Town F.C., with many of the original personnel. Initially placed in Division One of theCheshire League. However, by 1996, this second club had also folded.
Re-formed in 1997 as Fleetwood Wanderers, the club was placed back in Division Two of the North West Counties Football League (now the tenth tier of the English League system) and a sponsorship deal saw the club's name immediately changed to Fleetwood Freeport F.C.. The club was promoted to Division One in 1999 and renamed Fleetwood Town F.C. in 2002..
Now, for the second year running they are on the verge of League football and this year are in the 2nd round of the FA Cup.

    Aldershot.

In March 1992, the town of Aldershot was without a football club after Aldershot F.C. became the first Football League team to fold during the football season since Accrington Stanley in 1962. Aldershot Town was born later the same year, and began life competing in the Isthmian League Division Three. Despite Aldershot Town playing five divisions lower than the Football League, the attendance for their first competitive fixture was higher than the old team's last home tie. Ten successive victories were recorded under the guidance of former player Steve Wignall and Aldershot won the championship by an 18-point margin.

    The rest is history.

    Accrington Stanley

Accrington had been without a football team following the collapse of the original Accrington Stanley in 1966. The original team had been formed in 1891, and played in The Football League from 1921 to 1961; it had spent its final four seasons in the Lancashire Combination. In a meeting in the town library in October 1968 the revival was started by Stanley Wotherington, and in August 1970 the new club played at a new ground, the Crown Ground. Since their formation, Stanley have climbed the non-League pyramid to reach The Football League.

    Wimbledon

The club began in 2002 as a result of the Football Association's sanctioning of Wimbledon Football Club's relocation to Milton Keynes, the new town in Buckinghamshire. Wimbledon supporters opposed to this move reacted by founding their own side, AFC Wimbledon. In view of its transplanting to Milton Keynes, a large majority of Wimbledon fans felt that the original club no longer represented Wimbledon's legacy and tradition, and thus withdrew their support, choosing instead to re-establish the club from scratch.
When AFC Wimbledon was formed it affiliated to both the London and Surrey Football Associations and entered the Premier Division of the Combined Counties League. The side has since been promoted five times in nine seasons: during this time, it played 78 consecutive league matches without defeat, which is a current all-time record in English senior football.

Was it thought they were so good against Wycombe that they were handed a bye to round 3 this season then?

<laugh> Fraudulent slip? Changed it so that is at least factual. But don't be surprised.

I agree it's not Jose. Well not intentionally anyhow. Could be forced in that direction though. These are just reminders of how, with faithful supporters, teams can bounce back if they fold. It all depends on Hayes, and I think that is the cause of most, if not all, of our problems - uncertainty, insecurity, dependency; not good for morale.

when are the wobblers going to start their season? i prophecy much further jelly on the plate in your headlong dive back to whence you came. i am sure that linesman regrets his flag was not longer!

jelly on the plate, jelly on the plate, wibble wobble, wibble wobble, jelly on the plate. at least next season the wobblers and the gas can fight it out who makes that big drop.
