What does he expect? We know they're a superior team in almost every way to us, and he's complaining that we set ourselves up defensively? Better get used to it, a whole lot of teams will be doing that against them.

They are world champions aint they .

Is that the first defence they have ever faced ?

    Sounds like it was .

I know Spain HATE to lose so anyone who says "it was only a friendly " is barking.

    Not complaining ??

"We saw two completely different styles of football. The more defensive one won but we know that the only way they could score was from a free-kick or a corner and we conceded a not very intelligent free-kick.

He KNOWS the ONLY way we could score was from a NOT VERY INTELLIGENT free kick .

He doesnt mention the ABSOLUTE sitter that he missed does he. ?

    very sour grapes anyone.

No offence but your talking out your arse son .

So he learned one thing from all those years of Arsene Wenger's tutelage - how to whinge that the opponents don't roll over and let you score a hatful before half time because you have a higher pass completion rate.

Presumably he didn't whinge when Spain lost 2-1 to Italy, 4-0 to Portugal or 4-1 to Argentina?

In fairness the win looked like it came straight out of the Stoke City textbook

Wish people would specify this, it's terribly confusing!

The freekick was never a freekick anyway. I was talking to my Portuguese mate and just before they scored I said "if we score from this I won't accept it on a moral level". Hey ho, we won. But it was never a freekick but a shameful dive.

He is right - England should be utterly ashamed about how they played.

A friendly, at Wembley, against the best team in World football, the big bad England, the inventors of the beautiful game set up their stall to have 10 men behind the ball and very little ambition.

England should feel ashamed about it, big big big SHAME !!!! Disgustingly negative football. Unacceptable in my opinion.

Had it been a competitive game .. thats different, but the fans paid money to watch that drivel. They were robbed of a spectacle, they were robbed of seeing top players perform.

Anyone saying otherwise is a fool, no doubt. That is not what football is about.

No way should they feel ashamed. They played the right tactics against the world champions. All teams play that way against teams with players that can hold the ball well and when they get the ball, they hit them on the break.i hope we play this way against some of the opponents inthe Euro finals,if we had in the world cup Germany wouldn't have scored 4

    Fabregas barely said anything negative.

    It's typical tabloid bullshit.

Not for a friendly it isn't. Absolutely not !!! It's disgusting. You would never pay your money as a fan to watch that. A competitive match, maybe, but not a friendly.

What a load of rubbish. So you're saying england should have just rolled over and played to spain's strengths because the fans paid money to see iniesta and co pass it into our net? Ridiculous. If capello had played to spains advantage like the the fans would have been all over him.

I don't know about you but I'm pretty sure the majority of england fans were happy to have beaten the world champions, I don't know of anyone who is complaining we should have let spain score more goals.

Whilst not strictly competetive, friendly matches are still important international fixtures. That group of players don't spend much time together and it was a good opportunity to practice playing in a certain way, and get used to playing with eachother in that sort of situation. It's invaluable experience should we come up against spain (or any other technically superior team) in the euros next year.

I can't tell whether your trolling or just a complete moron.

he's neither but he's wrong, imagine how low morale wuold be if we'd played a normal game and got hammered.these games are for trying different tactics and players, and this time they worked,iv'e never heard so many negative comments from England supporters after a good win.

Had it been a competitive game, then Ramos would've been sent off about 3 times over.

If Spanish players are going to moan about the way that people play against them in friendlies, then perhaps they could address their own constant gamesmanship?
