As Mandy Rice Davies once famously said "Well he would say that, wouldn't he? "

If we were well prepared we wouldn't have needed to build the Nightingale hospitals.

Stockpiled the money instead, so that it could later be redistributed to the already rich chums of Bonko and his band of crooks for not fit for purpose PPE. Job's a gud 'un :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Covid Inquiry: Former chief medical officer close to tears over pandemic deaths

"The former chief medical officer told the inquiry the UK did not have plans in place to cope with a Covid pandemic, but she added "it didn't have resilience either".

Compared with similar countries, the UK was at the bottom of the table for numbers of doctors, nurses, beds, IT units and ventilators per 100,000, she said."

Yeah I saw that picture... once again you could not make this up in a work of fiction.. it would seem too beyond the bounds of believe

Throw in Baroness Mone (?), missing £billions, a Russian spy and his son being enobled?

Ian Fleming would struggle to write a coherent plot.

Plus of course a mendacious PM and his drunken acolytes.. the plot thickens.

Aye but they’d love to blame it all on those who’ve left to keep a bit of undeserved power.
Dido Harding’s husband, John Penrose MP, was the Prime Minister’s “Anti-Corruption Champion”, reappointed July 2019 (resigned after partygate), he sits on the advisory board of think tank "1828" which calls for "the NHS to be replaced by an insurance system and for Public Health England to be scrapped." His wife was given an unelected health role. He is an MP she is a life peer. The issue has gone nowhere.
He says Rishi Sunak needs to rebuild trust in the Conservative Party. I’d argue the interconnected lot of them being ****ed off by the electorate might be the first step of rebuilding politics with many more to go.

On every Question Time, BBC phone in, Jeremy Vine, Laura Kuenssberg, etc, the Tories are being absolutely hammered and ridiculed but their devotees and supporters, like Rees Mogg, are behaving as if it's just a storm in a bone china tea cup.

They just don't see how badly they've let people down ...

... or, more likely, don't care.

Meanwhile they maintain we should all forget a very recent PM, in Boris Johnson, and 'move on' ...

... yet continually reference Blair, Brown, Milliband.

    Absofuckinlutely deluded <laugh>

It is a proper stockpile. Surely it has to have come from a govt contract somewhere. It isnt jusy some chancer that couldnt flog it in my opinion.

I think 2 companies were appointed to dispose of stuff that was useless. Supposed to be burning it to make power, unless my memory is failing again.

Like you say it beggars belief. Lots of times in my career I have had to procure large contracts at pace. Never have I been so hopeless at securing quality as this episode appears.

All part of the chumocracy network. Dido Harding's real name is plain Diana, these lying duplicitous con men and women can't even be honest about their names, just like Alexander De Pfeiffel Johnson and Gideon Osborne

This is all moving from being a little embarrassing, and an easy pop at the Tories, to something sickening and serious ...

... these people have, no doubt, tried to cover up all this corruption so what we're seeing is just the tip of a massive iceberg.

We've all been taken for mugs.
