Not only should we have some of the cheapest season passes in the division we should reduce prices for those using streaming services. No doubt whilst demanding that the club competes financially with clubs with higher season ticket prices who sell more of them and get more paying at the gate at higher prices as well.
I've been paying iFollow £4.50 per month for live game audio commentary and watch video of the City game a couple of days later (no extra charge). Reason being a few mates come round to watch 1-3 different Premier League games on FUBO streamer at the same time I listen to City audio and watch the PL games. I'm hoping to be able to do the same with the new provider - that is get the beer flowing at 10 a.m Toronto time on Saturdays !
I am good with what we pay now even though we lose at least six per season whenever we are streamed on SKY. Averages out to less than 4 quid per live game and I get to pick up the Sky games on ESPN +. I don't need a decrease. Any cost reductions should go to the folks who turn up live week in and week out.
You want tickets to be even cheaper? Where do you think the money is coming from for the players we need? Have you seen our prices compared to other clubs?
What cost reductions could go towards decreasing the low prices we charge compared to most other clubs? And, where is the money coming from to buy the players we want? You do know how FFP works?
He said he didn't want a cheaper subscription. The Season tickets are cheap because we can't fill the stadium at this level. We should sell more if they're cheaper and along with the increased concession sales this should help with FFP. A better atmosphere should also be an additional benefit.
No imagination Reduce beer prices, but increase the length of half time so everyone can have two which would earn the same amount of profit even though the beer was cheaper.
I know. The poster said they want any cost savings to go to those who go to games. Don’t know they think there would be any but it suggests they think that tickets should be even cheaper despite them being cheaper than the majority. of clubs in the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday’s cheapest last season in League 1 was £510. But they still sold more than we will this season . Meanwhile Norwich have already sold all 22,000 of theirs, cheapest £534. But that was only of renewed by March. £580 if after March up until mid May. A few were not renewed from last year but they won’t go on general sale as there is a waiting list and will cost £620 for this season.,I know this because I know a Norwich season ticket holder. How are supposed to compete with then under FFP? But people will still ask why they are able to spend more than us.
You are correct we are by no means the best supported club in the Championship. Many other clubs have bigger fan bases. However, IMHO going low to attract more members is a good strategy for us because we have a decent catchment area.
But these days when spending limits are determined by what you bring in it is not much good having a stadium full of people paying very little. And fickle folk in Hull won’t keep going to watch mid table stuff. (Rugby fans are no better). As my Norwich supporting acquaintance always points out to me they have sold all their season tickets every season since 2005 including the season they were in League 1. And in League 1 he was paying £499 for their equivalent of the North Stand. Most of those seasons were in the Championship. A shame we can’t get that level of support and the money it brings in. Don’t know what the answer is though as we will never have as a committed fan base as large as some similar sized clubs.
I’m nothing if not consistent (apart from when I’m on a golf course…when I’m consistently inconsistent)
If we charged £500 and got 12,000 members we'd get about £6,000,000. My belief is that they think they can get 17,000 at circa £360 which would give a higher return. Pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap. We WILL sell more at a lower price point unfortunately. The clubs with the highest prices have the biggest bases. It makes complete commercial sense to reduce prices to maximise uptake for a club who don't sell out.
Norwich have the biggest base in the Championship? More than Sunderland? More than Leeds? Wednesday are the second highest prices but they are not bigger than us according to our fans.Trouble is with FFP you need money coming in as Bill Gates could buy us but he would still be constrained as to what he could put in.
I don't believe I mentioned any of those teams in any of my replies. However, all are bigger than us by most neutrals estimates. The owner(s) can only influence what he can influence. I think they are doing a very good job compared to what we've experienced recently. The money from sponsors such as Effes and Corendon is a welcome addition.
You said the clubs with the highest prices were the ones with the biggest bases. Norwich have the highest prices so by that logic they have the biggest fanbase. Which may surprise Sunderland and Leeds fans. Wednesday have the second highest but they don’t have a larger fanbase than Sunderland or Leeds, I doubt if most fans think Norwich are a bigger club than us. I agree the owners are doing a great job. A shame that their efforts have not been better rewarded in support terms. Or by the rugby centric local media. Some of our fans are unbelieveable. Ones who live away have moaned free transport is unfair as not living in Hull they get no benefit. One on the City twitter site was complaining about new members getting the same prices as long term fans and people like him should have their very low priced tickets reduced further as a reward. You couldn’t make it up. I cannot imagine fans of other clubs coming out with stuff like that.
