Bournemouth have sacked manager Gary O'Neil in a shock decision despite the rookie boss leading them to Premier League safety. In a statement released this afternoon, the club confirmed that O'Neil - who took charge initially on a caretaker basis before being handed the job permanently - has left - with an announcement on his replacement to be made in due course. O'Neil succeeded Scott Parker in the dugout at Vitality Stadium in August, having been part of his backroom team, and successfully kept the Cherries in the top-flight despite them being firm favourites to fall back into the Championship.
Staggering decision, must be a falling out over transfers or something similar as that makes no footballing sense at all!
Deserve to be relegated after ditching O'Neill. Worked wonders to keep them up when Snotty Parker threw his dummy out, claiming the players weren't good enough
Maybe some are putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 but some on the internet are linking it to this. https://metro.co.uk/2023/06/18/prem...olice-over-alleged-rape-of-teenager-18972825/
Is that two Premier League bosses leaving their clubs already "this season"? Or do matches have to be played for the season to start?
