I think criticising Oscar’s hold up play is unfair. I don’t think he’s done a bad job of it, simple and basic control the ball and pass it to someone. It’s not like he’s constantly bullied off it. We just don’t get the ball in to him enough and he’s usually looking to make runs rather than tracking back.
A sensible decision, always gives 100% both on and off the field, great lad to have around the dressing room.
If you watched the run in and decided he’s out his depth you’re watching with a pre determined agenda on him
If you’re watching him and seeing a player up to scratch you’re lost. Defensive awareness and speed of thought is way below the standard required, not to mention positionally very poor. I do agree with an extension but three years is bonkers
Why is it? Not going to find someone happy to be an understudy and plus if we challenge at the right end we’ll get a fee before he leaves
Oscar is worth persevering with. When he has time to think about things like penalty kicks and through one on one he generally hashes things up. Although a snap shot or pouncing on a rebound he is the best we have had for a good few seasons.
Jaden Philogene, a winger available from Villa, thought he looked decent for Cardiff last season. Stoke and some Bundesliga clubs are interested in him, would like to see us have a go.
Id be happy with the name on paper, not really followed his career so not sure what sort of full back he is?
He’s actually done well, been a mainstay in their team and been steady away. Played most of West Brom’s PL games when he was available.
