How can you say that he knows the club setup well? He left years ago and we have new owners it might be completely different now
I always thought with all his flapping arms and legs in tackles he looks like spaghetti. Fit in well in Bologna….
There’s little doubt we will have the biggest bank balance in the Championship this season, just a shame we won’t have any players! LOL
I don't know if I'm just being impatient. But considering how many outs and ins we are likely to want to do, and considering we've been relegated for ages so everyone knew the situation moving forward. I'm surprised nothing has happened yet. Our relegation was confirmed 35 days ago and we have 47 days until the season begins. It's going to be a crazy month and half!
Clubs think they can rinse us for peanuts, we don't need the cash.., We are demanding what we think they are worth to us without worry of making quick sells.
Yeah, I do get the reasons. Just because you want to shift players or bring them in, doesn't mean you can just do it when you want to. The players we want to shift that aren't likely to fetch a lot probably won't have many takers either. Just frustrating as it feels like nothing is happening and yet so much needs to happen in the off season but I'm sure theres lots going on behind the scenes that we are unaware of.
There seems to be plenty of rumours and I expect things will pick up once the internationals and holidays are done. It’s the old domino effect as well. We have some decent players for sale, but none of them are likely to be top targets for the big clubs, but JWP might be 2nd or 3rd choice
I really don’t think there will be that many ins, maybe 4 or 5. But yeah a lot of players will leave and it sounds like we are asking for big fees which tends to mean it will go on for ages with the players leaving right at the end of the window
Hope we can shift some of the ones that aren't likely to earn much if anything sooner though. Don't want to miss out on the players we do want to bring in because we need to shift some first.
The club he’s supposedly going to is owned by the same people who own Newcastle so allegedly he is going to be loaned to them. Probably some FFP loophole
Lol the fume if that happens would be hilarious. Don't think it will though unfortunately. Think the Saudi PIF have bought all the biggest clubs there now so we'll see more and more of this I imagine. I reckon they'll stick at it unlike China too as they're desperate to host a WC.
Yeah would he hilarious Wonder what Neves contract will look like. Benzema on £200m a season but obviously a much bigger name, but attracting someone like Neves might do more for the league long term. Benzemas deal apparently works out at £6 per second
I'm in two minds about this. Whilst I agree with you that the season is fast approaching and there may be a real overhall of the squad between now and then...I can equally see a world where we start the season feeling fairly confident with a first team squad of something like: Bazunu Larios/Livramento/Bree/SIGNING Carleta-Carr/Stephens/Lyanco/SIGNING Diallo/Grimes/Smallbone/Alcaraz/S. Armstrong/SIGNING Sulemana/Edozie/Tella/SIGNING Adams/A.Armstrong/Mara/SIGNING That's 6 new signings (probably plus a backup GK) and doesn't include some of the youngsters we know are banging on the door. And that's assuming we sell all of Lavia, JWP, KWP, Salisu, McCarthy, Giant Paul, Nlunldlu, Aribo, Djenpo, Bednarek, Orsic, ABK AND Perraud. So it's much more a case of holding out for the right price for those who might be going rather than in any sort of immediate pressure to get a boat-load of players coming in.
