Despite a team including former international stars such as Gianluigi Buffon and Franco Vázquez, Maresca failed in leading Parma into the promotion spots, being eventually dismissed on 23 November 2021.In June 2022, he returned to Manchester City as one of Pep Guardiola’s assistant managers, replacing Juanma Lillo who became manager of Al-Sadd. So with the Man City millions invested into the youth set up he does well. He was sacked from Parma in the second tier despite having one of the best teams. He is Peps number two who can afford players we could only dream of. If he thinks he can use those coaching skills at Leicester with zero knowledge of the championship and what a slog it is he is in for a huge shock. I can only imagine Leicester are hoping for Pep favours in the loan market

Iraola is someone who deserves a big club, yes a lot of the media rave about him but for me it’s his tactics, the way he sets up, his high press, his attacking stats but also has a very effective mid-block and concedes few goals. The players we had would have thrived under him. He actually does Bielsaball, played for Bielsa and got into coaching because of Bielsa and his tactics. He also played for Valverdi so is able to adapt to different situations. In a world where my choices are Parker, Corberan, FARKE or Iraola I go Iraola if I had the choice of Gallardo too it would be Gallardo

At least Leicester didn’t pay compensation and that’s a worry for me at a time we need as much cash as possible. Why would you pay a few million for Carlos Corberan when everyone else discussed on here is out of work? Lot of time for Carlos but he would be a gamble, just like FARKE and Parker and even Iraola but at least not paying for them

You would have thought that bringing in a DOF and head coach would have been on the top of the list and would have been sorted out days ago. I get the feeling that the 49ers only give a **** about making as much cash through investors as they can.
At this moment in time it's beneficial for everyone to get back in to the PL. The chairman is speaking to certain players trying to convince them to stay, possibly with huge financial bonus' if we go straight back up. We have a short term DoF who has done okay elsewhere. We have interviewed managers. We are still awaiting EFL to give the green light on ownership. Ironically the hold up is due to extra steps added recently which were inspired by their failings in allowing Cellino to take over us a few years ago. Things are happening in the background and announcements should be made next week.
Looking like Raya is going to Spurs from Brentford, read a few weeks back that were it to happen, Brentford would like Meslier as his replacement.
