The crazy thing is a fit Tyler Roberts is still probably our best CAM at the club as our recruitment has been poor.
Marcelo Gallardo still hasn’t taken the Marseille job and they’ve been talking for a couple of weeks now. Hoping 49ers are doing something about him or Iraola
Rumour going around last night Gallardo has turned Marseille down. Iraola linked with the Marseille gig, now he's not going to Almeria
I still don’t get why a championship club would hire Iraola I see no evidence about his ability or quality
I don't see why a Benitez, Potter, Iraola, Rodgers or Gallardo would join a Championship club. Am I missing something here? **** it. Mourinho is due a job change. Why don't we go get him. Pep has won everything with City, just make him an offer.
You could say that but if the new owners want to bounce straight back they need a plan and a long term plan or project. Enticing a coach with a reputation would mean they have that plan and the coach to attract top players. One season in the championship with Leeds Utd shows the club being bigger and better prospects than Marseille or Akmeiria. Gallardo would make everyone sit up and if he wants a top salary and money to spend do it….. sick of looking in the Aldi bucket and by doing so we show we have little ambition
Why would Bielsa, one of the most revered managers in the game, Iraola and Gallardo are linked with decent clubs not world renown ones. As Ristac says what has Iraola really achieved, Gallardo has only one title to his name with River Plate, not the greatest return for his time at the countries biggest club. They ought to be honoured they're being associated with us..
If a top coach comes to us and fails then their career at the top level is pretty much done. Their reputation takes a dive. The remit for this next season is promotion. Its not just that we'd like to have a decent run in the league. Promotion is a must. Bielsa was a bit different. We didn't have that pressure. We didn't have that expectation. It was low risk for him as we weren't really expected to go up. The next manager will be expected to win the league. If they don't then it's a long way back. It's a far more solid career move to go to a top division club where they only have to finish mid table every year. Leeds is a risky job this next two seasons. The budget at the club, the new owners, a good youth setup suggests that success is merely a formality. We all know, including the big managers, that it's much harder than that and that's why the established guys will stay well clear. We need a hungry, talented, risk taking manager who is willing to put his burgeoning reputation on the line in order to establish himself among the top level managers. Maybe one who plays a possession based, attacking style and someone who can get the fans onside. Ideally someone who has done well at this level before. please log in to view this image
I watched West Brom a fair bit last season and one criticism of Corbean and by a few baggies fans is, when they go one up, he shuts up shop and tries to defend the game, not the free flowing attacking game he's perceived to play. Bruce was awful there but there best attacking player under him, Jed Wallace went backwards when Corbean took over, which was strange.
He's been bang average all his career until midway through this season when a certain coach stuck him as a defensive midfield pivot and since then he's been in the form of his life. please log in to view this image

Could only be a few fans complaining mate. They were bottom three when he took over. I watched him transform Huddersfield from a bottom end Championship side to a play off final side. They played great football. Then he left and they immediately returned to the bottom of the table again last season. I was less impressed with him at West Brom. It was an easier job imo as they still have a decent amount of quality in their squad so it was expected they'd improve at some point. However, joining mid season and changing tactics and playing style is incredibly difficult yet he managed to tweak things and get results without really fully morphing in to an all out possession attacking side. You won't see Bielsa joining a team mid season as its too difficult to alter the style. Corberan kind of found a way to make it work with West Brom without a pre season and without really bringing players in. That's another positive to me. He can adjust and adapt to different situations and squads. Get him in, give him a pre season, Marathe is ringing the players up and selling them the plans that the 49ers have for the club, sign the better players out of this division and get promoted.
I work next to a baggies fan and I’ve a mate who’s one too, they’re both terrified about losing Corberan to us. I’m open minded myself, he seems the better of the three linked so far but that’s only because he hasn’t yet got a disaster against him or relegation like Parker and Farke
Less complaining, more frustration mate,as they always seemed well on top first 20 minutes of most games , if they carried on in the same way after taking the lead they would most likely blown teams away. Having said that, all the ones I know would be well pissed off if he left.
And I’m still hoping someone can tell me what the appeal would be of having Iraola, the Spanish 2nd tier is nowhere near as good as the Championship
Not saying that Leicester are right or wrong, but both FARKE and Parker were on their list but both binned in favour of Marasca.
