I'm sure Reginald Perrin would have tucked the penalty away

Is Sol your suggestion to be our new manager ?

Who knows maybe he'd be better than Kompany given the chance.

You’re comparing Cooper with Sol Campbell and Paul McGrath? Might as well compare Bamford with Haaland and Kane <laugh>

With the greatest respect, Liam Cooper is no Paul McGrath.

You'll 100% agree as an Irish man that Paul McGrath was one of the greatest defenders of his generation. Imagine if his knees worked properly and he stayed off the booze. He would be recognised as an all time great across the globe. Its astounding he played at that level for so long.

But Bamfords job wasn’t to score goals don’t you know. His job was to drag four or five defenders around the pitch covering his every move whil creating untold space for our attacking midfielders to exploit. According to some he’s one of the best in the pl at it

Yes but someone failed to buy those midfielders. Just a bit of an oversight <laugh><laugh><laugh>

He certainly was, normally Id hate his scum connections, but because he left on bad terms, similar to Strachan, I've no problems with him. He grew up in an orphanage here near me in Dun Laoighaire and played for the local sides here, one of my mates played in defence with him during his time at Dalkey Utd just up the road from me. I never met him, but no one has a bad word to say about him. Actually he sent a nice email to my mates son at his funeral which was nice. Still lives in Ireland, down in Wicklow I think. Charlton was like a Dad to him.<ok>

Yes. I'm comparing Cooper with Sol Campbell and McGrath (as in 2023)

Those signing stats are depressing but I can't say I disagree. Gelhardt and the other U23s just haven't broken through.

Paul Mcgrath, my only non leeds United football hero. Went AWOL for a world cup qualifier around 92/93. Was found bizarrely in Israel ( nowhere near where we were playing), came back for the next game 3 days later to an automatic starting spot and a hero's welcome.
