3 members of the Everton board have resigned last weekend, its also expected that Bill Kenwright and more will be gone by this weekend. Most Everton Directors have not been to Goodison Park this year for fear of death or riots. There is even the little unknown case of Ancelotti suing the club for muchodinero. The new 50,000 stadium is still going ahead due to oligarch Mushiri funding, even though the price has risen from £500m to £700m and still rising. There is also the case that Everton have broken FFFP rules and should have been sanctioned the season before the one that’s just ended. The Premier League know there has been “illegal” cooking of the books but have now had to send everything to an independent investigations unit and nobody knows when the results will come back. Leeds Utd along with Southampton and Leicester are suing Everton for £300m in a class action along with Burnley who were relegated the season before last who have their own £100m claim registered with the courts. Everton have cheated the system, cheated the fans and deserve punishment. However are the Premier League brave enough to do anything? This from Wednesdays Irish Examiner:

Everton face legal action from Leicester, Leeds, Southampton and Burnley that could run into tens of millions of pounds if they lose their case for an alleged breach of the Premier League’s financial fair play rules, which the Guardian understands will be heard on 25 October. Everton were referred to an independent commission on 24 March in relation to their spending from the 2021-22 season and it was the trigger for Leicester, Leeds, Southampton, Burnley and Nottingham Forest to write to the league, demanding that the case be heard before the end of the season. At the end of 2021-22, Leeds and Burnley had met with the league to question whether Everton had broken the rules after they recorded losses of £371.8m over a three-year period. The league allows clubs to lose a maximum of £105m over a rolling three-year cycle – and those who do not comply can be fined or deducted points. Just think how quickly the Italians dealt with Juventus and its directors. All done and dusted in the same season, but here……

So lots of Euro clubs want our players yet don’t want to pay us, they just want us to loan them out. We’ve done it with Kiko for a couple of seasons and then let him go, we’ve done it with Costa who will finally leave Leeds for good this summer. We allowed Diego Llorente to go to Roma on the understanding they would buy him for £13m this summer. Now everyone in football knows Roma are skint even though Jose’ wins Euro cups for them and qualifies them for Europe every season. They are now reneging on their agreement and want his price reducing or they send him back.. maybe we should take Roma to the Swiss court of arbitration demanding they pay the agreed fee, just like we had to do for JKA. Real Betis want Marc Roca but have no money so want us to loan him to them but even if we agree they can’t even afford to pay his wages until they offload someone. They also want Firpo so bet they go for a loan. These clubs are all about getting free players these days and it’s everywhere even Barcelona can only afford freebies these days and the number of players who prefer to run their contracts down is increasing. Makes you wonder how clubs can protect themselves from these greedy players. Leeds tried to protect themselves by giving long contracts but when clubs don’t want to buy them, what’s the point in contracts any more. Leicester are relegated because 7 or 8 first team players refused new contracts and just ran their deals down. Tielemens alone was valued at £80m by Chelsea two years ago but he refused to go to Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal. Now gone for free earning a massive wage and the club got nothing and when half your first team do that you get relegated because you are not bringing in a transfer fee to to allow you to upgrade.

Leeds should stop offering huge contracts and should maybe look to bring in some top loans and play them at their own game. These players need to be a lot better than the crap we brought in all the crap from Chelsea, JKA, Nhketia, Costa etc. with the new lenient work permit rules coming into play this coming season, maybe Leeds should dive into the loan market in a big way

Great thread. Rushing about here so will get involved over weekend, The contract extensions were for the most part a joke. LLorentes and Bamfords prime examples. Added to that the get out clauses they all have which render them meaningless anyway. If I was a betting man, Id bet we wont get 20m between The aforementioned two , Rocca, Firpo and Koch combined
and still many instalments to pay on most of them. Awful business, simply awful

Looking like Koch in the last year of his contract can walk away for around £3m, Roca still has a long contract but nobody in Spain can afford £10m and he’s turning down German clubs who may be able to pay, but because we were relegated the club are obliged to listen to his requests. He will go on loan as long as they can pay his wages so we do make a saving there and he will then be sold at a cheaper price in a years time as his contract has run down further it’s all weighted in the players favour and the clubs are losing out which in turn means wages and transfer fees keep rising. Firpo will be the same he will go on loan with 2 years left on his deal and leave next summer for a couple of million. It’s crap, we only save on their high wages but have to replace these twats who dont want to play for us but are contracted to us…

It’s always been a worry that the inability to move unwanted players on and get their market value could have a negative impact on ability to bring in the quality we need over next couple of seasons. Every possibility a big chunk of the parachute payments could be wasted on the offloads

As long as they’re off the wage bill, if they stay they take the pay cut so we don’t have to top up wages. Unfortunately we won’t be getting our money back on what we bought them for.

Exactly but means we have to meet the next four instalments on their purchase prices from our coffers and will end up with worthless journeymen

Monchi now joined Villa as DoF so Emeri well happy. Victor Orta who worked for Monchi at Seville before going it alone is expected to replace Monchi.

Leicester have done the unexpected and …..

…. Monchi is the man behind the Seville model which kind of became the Leicester model over here. Orta was his disciple and walked into boro and then Leeds trying to roll out the programme

Cult figure - a Bielsa of DOFs if you like.

West Ham obviously still in the prem but look who’s trying to pick up a striker who cost WHU £70m last season, Roma want to take him loan as they’re skint. Hope WHU hold out Scamaca is great but couldn’t handle the Prem and wants to go back to Italy……

Pre season starts 2 weeks tomoz and we’re still waiting for the EFL and lets remember that Maratha, Lowey and a couple more have already been cleared by the Premier League so why it’s taking them so long is beyond me
