Very nice. Flying to Pisa, got a Villa in Lucca for the week. Doing the Lakes/Croatia next year hopefully
I don't care well smash them.. HAWAY THE LADS.... Only downside is i have surgery on 13th July so im fecked for 2 months so no games for me.
Old Musso better be free with the lira and get his round in Smug . One of the very few holidays I have had that doesn't involve driving but I will look Gargnano up and maybe use local transport
I didn't use the trains but they're very cheap and frequent. Ferries are pretty good as well. Just a thought.
I've used trains in Italy quite a bit in the past. The local trains take ages but are very cheap. The National ones are relatively expensive. The lake ferries are pretty cheap but take quite a while, but you can get a hydrofoil on the lake which is expensive but gets you where you want to go pretty fast. I vowed I wouldn't drive this time but I might give in and hire one locally.
Yeah, spent a week there 5 years ago. First week was travelling (Pisa-Florence-Venice-Padova) then a week by the pool. Absolutely love Italy Hoping to get to Sienna, Lago di Massaciuccoli and Viareggio. Thinking 1 day explore, next day by the pool
Did train from Pisa to Florence then Venice and back. They are excellent value and never crowded. It's a great way to see the country. Did Rome to Naples by train a few years back too
The last time we were in Lucca we got the bus up to Torre del Lago Puccini. We visited Puccini's house then went on a cruise around the lake, they feed you Tuscan biscotti and ply you with Tuscan sweet wine and play Puccini's music over the sound system on the boat. All very twee and touristy but we still have a laugh about it now fifteen years on
I love Florence, along with Rome probably my favourite places I have visited Sienna is on my bucket list
Yes I like Venice, been three times, but only on day trips so didn't really appreciate it. Been told that we need to spend at least a week there to get it.
