    From Autosport Magazine.

The ability to play the long game requires more than just the recognition that you can trade off single lap speed for long run pace. You need to be able to pull it off. Button reckons that his time in bad cars has given him a breadth of technical understanding that perhaps someone like Vettel (and Hamilton) lacks; thats potentially an edge when it comes to isolating a perfect set-up. In a straight fight in equal machinery that could make a big difference.

"When you go through the difficult times and have a car that isn't so competative you try everything -everything - with that car. You throw everything at it and try every possible type of set-up. You try things you wouldn't even imagine trying otherwise. You work on so many little ares to try and find time that I do think it helps you. But when you have a good car you can cover up issues"

"for me it was good to have had bad years, because I learned so much more in terms of working with an engineer. In my first season I had raced 1 season with slicks and wings. When I arrived at williams I'd come straight from karts to formula ford and then F3; I didn't have a clue about the geometry of a race car or engineering, so it was a steep learning curve, but a good one, and it makes me stronger now when it comes to fine tuning an F1 car."

I think that depends on just how slow the car is. No amount of setup can help the HRT so i doubt its educating Ricciardo for example. When your in a close competion and need every inch its more likely.

Well, I understand your basic point here Julius, but what did you think of Glock's drive in the Virgin today? I, for one, was impressed.
